hi Eagle333,
VO New Delhi
My ecas status changed from AR to IP on 09-Oct-2015.

Now my ecas Status shown
1. we received your permanent resident application on 15-Dec-2014.
2. we started processing on application on 08-Apr-2015.
3. Medical results have been received.

Can i understand that my application's eligibilty pass or not?.
Gagan Kharor,

Your timeline looks awesome, you are just few weeks away from PPR and DM. A lot have been done on your file by now. you will come out of background checks very soon if your case is straight forward. Your timeline looks matured and read for the next step. I recommend you to order your GCMS even tomorrow. Contact me when you get them. Eligibility is passed by now. It already 6 months since they have been working on your file.

Good luck

Hi dedoz,

Your timeline seems good to me. Did you receive any letter to submit additional documents? or an interview letter? If not, they are busy working on your file. Did you know from the time they started processing your application they usually open your file at least once a month? So if we count from July 10 to August 10,
September 10, October 10, these past three months some officers have scanned your file with fresh eyes to review your file. It is a good idea to order your GCMS you will know where they are. Like I said in my previous notes, IN PROCESS OLD OR NEW is not the big problem but the issue is how does your file stand in CIC's balance? there are only two sides routine and non-routine. There are people in the new process will get their visas before the old in process applicants. Why is that? because of routine and non-routine. Overall keep your fingers crossed and I hope your file stands as a routine case in that balance. 3 months seems a lot to complete eligibility unless they are having issues with some of the supporting documents if not, you are warm and dry my friend. Relax, breath normally and drink lot of water everything will okay (loughs)

All the best my friend
Awesome man thanks alot for the motivation and the support. I didnt get any letter from cic yet. GCMS already been ordered. When you say they are busy working on my application does it mean that the BG hasnt started?

My concern is why the Medical is not shown as received yet, the medical was done in upfront. Do you have an idea? And also can you confirm that my application is under old process catagory.

1. Busy working is background checks and other things
2. Three reasons why your medicals don't show up on eCas:
a) Your medicals need further examinations from the panel doctor and CIC will tell you when to go see him/her. Could be you might redo X-RAY, sputum or something which they will tell if you fall under this example.
b) They just forgot/care to update your medical on eCas
c) CIC officer responsible for your file chose to leave eCas like that until you are few days away from DM like it used to be in the past.

Non-routine cases take longer than routine case to be processed by CIC.
While every effort should be made to process high-priority cases expeditiously, it is recognized that there are circumstances where priority processing may legitimately be affected. While not exhaustive, the list below provides some examples of non-routine cases that may not be processed according to the six- Twelve months service standard..
Examples of non-routine cases:
 medical, security or criminal issues;
 suspected relationship or dissolution of convenience;
 misrepresentation of marital status at time of marriage;
 previous deportation;
 inability to support self and family members due to legal obligations or other reasons;
relationship of applicant to sponsor or applicant to other family members in doubt;( interview required)
 marital status of family member suspect;
 sponsor under investigation for violation of IRPA; or
outstanding criminal charge against sponsor.
Since you know that you will go through interview you do realised that your case is a non-routine case. Just to let you know CIC has two ways to classified cases, Routine cases and Non-routine ones. I guess you know where I am going. Good cases and bad cases. My citizenship case was a routine case and I got my Citizenship in 11 months but there are people who have Non-routine cases CIC took 2-3 years to finalised their Citizenship cases. It is the same thing with Family Class Sponsorship application. Since you know that your file is a non-routine case you do realised the outcome of it? If you have any other question pleased fell free to ask.

Enjoy your week-end

there is nothing wrong with your timeline. If your file is a routine case expect PPR before December or in December.

Hi Eagle333, I read all your posts replies and felt that your are an expert in this field, Really your responses so analytical and comprehensive, are you affiliated with any lawyer occupation. wonderful job!

Kindly I have a question regarding my case. I applied for my 2-year-old son which is born outside Canada, me and my wife both have a PR, my son online status shows like that,

We received your application for permanent residence on April 22, 2015.
We started processing your application on June 25, 2015.
Medical results have been received.

What you think that at what time we expect that my son case will be finalized and we received a PPR.

Another fact is that we also applied for TRV since 13 July 2015 and yet no response from cic and even though they already refused 2 times TRV. Is this will effect the case. Thanks for earlier response.

Good Day smupk2013,

They will process it with high priority because it involves a child. Good thing they neither do criminality nor security on the child. He/she will only doe medicals. Once eligibility is established between you and the child the case will be on the file for completion. You might here something in December.

No this will not affect the process, they know that you want your child's immigration paperwork to be completed as soon as possible. I recommend whether you can proceed with GCMS request even tomorrow you will have more light of what is going on inside your child's file.

My apology that they refused him/her a TRV but they want to complete the file very soon. Thanks for the positive comments. I am not affiliated with a lawyer however I do a lot of research and I pay very close attention when CIC releases new information, new rules and new procedure about immigration.

Good Luck

POST OF THE WEEK

GLOBAL CASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

Good day my friends,

I would like to do a new post about GCMS notes since I have been commending to some of you to request them for a better understanding of your files.

WHAT ARE THE IMPORTANCE OF GCMS NOTES?

GCMS Notes will provide information like:

•The date your application was received
•Whether your processing has started
•Date your processing was started or is likely to be
•Initial assessment of your file for the first time.
•How important factors like your proofs of genuine relationship were assessed.
•Concerns/ reservations that the officer may have regarding above.
•Verifications made or likely to be made on your supporting documents
•If your interview is likely to be scheduled.
•Possible issues to be addressed (and thus expected questions);
•Likely next processing steps.

Since 2011/2012, Immigration offices are using a more integrated version of such database called ‘Global Case Management System’ (GCMS).

The information you get from GCMS is not the same information as that available on “e-client” but a very detailed record of your file. Apart from information submitted in the Application Forms, the records contain comments or notes made by the Immigration officer on the file. This information is valuable as it provides
an insight into how a particular application is being viewed by the immigration department, and the issues that they consider important in decision-making. This helps the applicant on ways to make a more favourable presentation and address a possible difficulty in the Application, before a decision is made since these are the Notes from the Immigration file. NB: The request of GCMS doesn’t influence the processing of an ongoing
application in any manner.

Workflow Management

The GCMS manages the 'workflow' in most visa officers through the 'bring forward' system. Each GCMS file is allocated with three pieces of key information :

•a code to indicate the current location of the file
•a code to indicate what will happen next to the file
•a code to indicate when this action is scheduled to happen

Visa officers log into GCMS on a daily basis like you do in your email address or your computer and GCMS provides a list of tasks that need to be completed.

What is GCMS?

GCMS is short form for 'General Case management Systems', which is the name of the computer system used by Citizenship & Immigration Canada to process applications in overseas offices and inside Canada, such as permanent resident, work permit, study visas, Citizenship...

When an immigration application arrives at the visa office, the immigration officers create a GCMS file. It is the GCMS file number that is printed on an Acknowledgement of Receipt ('AOR'). The GCMS file number is normally the letter "B" followed by 9 digits, e.g. "B 123 456 789", although for a study permit, it will begin with an 'S' and for a visitor visa application it will begin with a 'V'.

Checking Your Application Status

If you feel that there has been an unusually long time since you last heard from the visa office, you might want to get your GCMS file to understand what the current status of your application is.

Sometimes delays are caused by heavy backlog at the visa office and, although frustrating, checking your GCMS file at least provides reassurance that the application is on track, however slow the processing.

I hope this post will help you make decision to order your GCMS.

Good Luck
