So just to clarify, If my application says IN PROCESS but when I go in it only shows

1. Application Received
2. Medicals received

that means it hasn't actually started to process yet? Am I still eligible for a refund at this stage?

Yes a $475 refund if the PR process has not started for the sponsored person + $490 RPRF it was paid upfront, however $75 will not be refunded since it is part of administrative.

For example a background/security check on an applicant who has never travelled outside their own country and never held any government or military positions may take a few weeks or a month or two. A similar check on an applicant who has travelled extensively and/or held government or military positions would take considerably longer. It really all depends on how much there is to look into about the applicant and also how many checks are in queue ahead of the applicant.

we r Feb 2015 applicant..our medical expired in Jan 2016.. Bt no remedical request till now.our eligibility is passed since 12/12/2015..after that they are just doing background check...so u cannot estimate their time to check background

Eagle333 its been 42 DAYS since schedule A And RPRF request and submitted and yet no word from CIC. I am worried since most threads, I've searched, says people got their PPR within 10 days of schedule A submission.. Any idea?

I was requested an updated schedule a in January, didn't receive PPR until mid March. Don't worry they should be almost finished your file!

Don't need to worry it will come with a big delay though. All it matters right now is your application is in Process.

I sent Inquiry and got reply that File is in Routine background checks, what does this means ? What they were doing Before interview , if they start background checks now, Is that Means that I have pass Interview ?

If u didn't pass d Interview then there won't b a need to go ahead with background check. They probably will make a decision and inform u. but since background check has commenced after interview, that means u passed and they proceeded with d processing...


Am sure d Interview was to determine eligibility

They started processing my file on April 25th... now i just have to wait...i really hope no interview will be needed...however in the meantime my husband got a VV now were just waiting on the passport to be received ... we sent the passport on April 18th and now it says it was approved and on its way back since April 25th but still waiting for it... i need patience i really cant wait to receive this passport so my husband can come asap.
