As additional documents request, along with Proof of Funds, OINP is also asking for "Intent to Reside" in Ontario/Canada and proof to prove that you have applied and searching for jobs in Canada.

1. Write a letter to explain your "intent to reside" in Ontario.
2. Write an explanation letter to prove that you have been searching and applying jobs on regular basis.
  • Take a PDF print directly from your email (gmail, hotmail etc) to prove that you have subscribed different job portals in Canada.
  • Take printouts of auto-replies from companies where you have applied the job recently (consider last one month in account).
  • Take screenshots from job portals from where you have applied jobs.

You do not need to mention all the jobs you have applied. Also, Do make sure you are showing only those jobs which lies in your domain.

If one has not started job hunting already then it is high time to start.

The item n 1 is ok. I've already sent one with my application. But for the item n 2, I don't think that makes sense for outland candidates. Any employer will ask you about your immigration status. And if you don't have a work permit, you won't be considered. As nominations + CIC processing will take at least 8 months, it does not make sense to look for a job at this time in my opinion.

What are the thoughts of other forum members regarding this item n 2 described in the quote above for outland candidates?

You're absolutely right that employers won't reply or accept outland applications but by applying you would be in position to argue with OINP officials that you did apply for jobs but employers couldn't sponsor you due to your status.

This also shows that there are jobs in market of your profession which you can apply after coming to Canada.

At the same time, many employers do sponsor outland candidates though it is very rare.

I was browsing in Feb thread and realized that someone got nominated yesterday. His timeline matches with mine (he also received the "final decision phase" email on Aug 18). I have high hopes.... :D If I get nominated today, I will throw the biggest party at my place.

Few months back, I did order a duplicate copy of ECA from WES. They charged me 75.71 CAD and refunded 7.91 CAD automatically. I think I am still entitled for refund of something 30 CAD. Any idea how to ask for refund?

pls drop them an email , on their site, they have a support link where the email id is mentioned. mention your order number and request them to cancel a part of the order where they would resend you the copies, once done they will refund you the remaining amount or 33 $

Thank you MDM23. This is a kind of indirect fraud. Charge more and don't refund, if customer don't ask.

well they are actually going to send you a copy for which they are charging, so IMO their system should not be defaulting to sending a copy to the applicant unless requested. :-)

Was just going thru Nov thread...many have got their nomination in last 2-3 days..means they have started with nomination...soon will be our turn..may be in 2-3 months .. hopefully

Hello MDM23,
I did not see any email address on their site. I asked for refund through the form on their site. Twice already, and never received any reply!

Can you please share the email id?
Thanks,
Maleeksha
