Update from my side:

OINP officer called me on Monday (06/20). Because my current position is IC Test Engineer, he asked me a bunch questions regarding PEO, and if I do design or not. Then he asked me what I am going to do when my current WP expires (I replied apply for BOWP).

I then received an email saying my case is transferred to a senior officer for a decision.

Best wishes all.
Congratulations!
It seems like you're very near of nomination. You will be the second applicant to get nomination, being on expiring work-permit.
Good luck!

What is the quota for 2016 Ontario Express Entry? Since there are over 2700 AOR up to June 20, 2016 already, I don't know if they move our file to 2017 quota.
Don't worry. We all will get nominations by end of this year. There is enough remaining quota. Moreover, as per OINP, in november they will be allotted 2017 quota as well.

Hi Guys,

A quick question, i am January applicant, and now looking at the rejection policy adopted by opnp, i wanted to check on one thing during my POF i had submitted my bank statement for last 6 months duly signed and stamped along with that i had submitted my consolidated records of Fixed deposits held by me with the same back duly signed and stamped....

My saving account didn't have the full funds required for family of 3, but when you include my FD's then the amount is three times as what is required by CIC...

Would this be ok or i could run into trouble ?

More than Okay. Hope the FD's are in your name or joint with spouse.

You should be fine as long as savings accounts and fixed deposits are on your name.

As per my knowledge, I have one doubt about the maturity date of your fixed deposits. If it falls under one year then you should not face any problem. In other words, if you can't use F.D funds as per your wish, means bounded by lock-in period then you may get in trouble. It is worse scenario I am talking about as I don't know how OINP will take such case.

The maturity period or Lock-in-period does not affect the FD, because FD can be en cashed before maturity and is considered to be at par with cash.

Read about F.D's under section 80-C. One cannot withdraw before 5-year lock-in period. Bank offers several types of F.D. with their terms and conditions, and lock-in period, and in some scenarios one cannot withdraw amount.

@IOS9.2 - Ask your bank to provide you a letter which states that you can withdraw your F.D. at any time and at what deduction/interest rate. In case of any issue, you can prove to OINP that you will be able to use all of your funds on requirement.

In my case, I asked my bank to provide me one year bank statement and letter which stated that I can use this amount any time, and I've no loans or any type of liabilities with the bank (All pages stamped and sealed with bank seal).

FDs are in my name as single holder and wife as a nominee and all the FD's are for 1 year tenure and have multiple renewal dates spread across the year

right. According to Indian Laws they can fine for premature withdrawal and for lock-in-period FD there is more paper work also, but in worst situation you can withdraw. most of the time it is mentioned in the terms and condition section, or else a letter from bank is okay.

Yours F.D seems a normal F.D., of one year.
Just get a letter from your bank that your F.D's can be withdrawn at any time. You are completely fine.

I guess, OINP will ask from you about the validity of funds if they have any doubt.
They can't just refuse your application because you've provided funds details. All they can ask to clarify certain things.

So you can get it when they ask for.

Long time lurker on this thread (and forum) here - thought I'll share my situation. I applied for OINP (Masters stream) around mid-January and received an email mid-May with an "Acknowledgement Letter" attachment, which I assume is an AOR. I haven't heard back since (so, I assume, getting an AOR really doesn't mean much apart from confirming completeness). The contents of the letter have been posted before on this thread iirc, but this was the main part of it:

"Your application was reviewed to confirm that it is complete and has been forwarded for assessment. OINP will notify you when your application moves to the assessment phase and again when your application moves to the decision phase. You will also be contacted directly should we require any additional information to assess your application."

So I still have 2 more stages to go before I can do anything. My work permit is expiring March 2017, thus I'd most likely be needing a bridging work permit - which would complicate things a bit since my employment contract is coming to an end in October. Sigh.
