Great news....will this change affect only the new applicants? or points will be added to existing applicants too?
This affects all applicants who have EE profiles.
IRCC will be implementing these changes on 19 Nov accordingly points awarded will change for all relevant cases.

Hi Guys,

Wanted to know if any one remotely know whats happening with OINP, i am 13th jan outland applicant with AOR on 18th July, but no information post that...

Now i read that some applicants from feb have also got ECA / Additional doc requests. Do these guys follow FIFO system or AOR date as an reference point or no logic what so ever ?

i read people getting random request from oinp and their seems to be no set pattern on how they are going about business .........
They follow FIFO. What happens is that they've got several officers and each officer gets a batch of applications to work on. Some officers work faster than others. So what is more than likely happening is that some might reach Feb. applications while others are still completing there Jan. applications. From what I understand, all persons who file number starts with 16XXXXX should have their applications processed by the end of this year. Hence the reason OINP hired temp workers and are working late hours and weekends too.

So don't worry. Jan. FSW applicants would see additional document requests from next week. I am basing my last sentence on the trend I am seeing. I hope OINP doesn't prove me wrong. :D

Thanks for the prompt reply.

I have another question, my wife just started working in Canada on a contract.

Do i need to update this information in the Express Entry profile or should I wait as it might complicate the application further as nomination might be around the corner ;D

On November 19th individuals with Job Offers who are already in the pool could lose as much as 550 pts. For an FSW applicant like me with no Job Offer, my points would not be affected.

I recommend to add, it makes them feel appropriately communicated. Additionally, it should work in your favor from spouse points perspective.

Once I update the info on the EE profile post that do I need to inform the ONIP?

If yes, is there a format to share with them?

This change only affects LMIA (negatively) and Canadian study (positively).
If you don't have an LMIA or study in Canada it'll have no impact on you.
