Hi, thank you to whoever replies.
Do you know how many times the OINP masters stream opens? And what months usually does it open?
Is doing a masters in Canada an easy way to get the PR, especially in Ontario?
Thank you in advance!!!
You can refer to the official OINP updates website
https://www.ontario.ca/page/2021-ontario-immigrant-nominee-program-updates
and try to see a trend. The program usually opens once or twice a year, sometimes they announce when the program is open or sometimes they just open it without former communication. So you need to check the updates website everyday if you are counting in this program to immigrate to Ontario (or pay a lawyer/representative that does that for you).
Depends on what you mean for an "easy way" to get PR. The program it is in terms of requirements/documents needed to apply after you finish your Masters. However, It is very hard to secure a nomination under this stream due to the high amount of people waiting for a chance and the low amounts of available nominations. For these reasons the program is filled only minutes after is open.
If you check the website above, about 1000 people per year secure a nomination. If you are lucky enough to secure a nomination, you would need to go through a paper based application and the processing times to get a PR are around 1.5-2years.
As a personal advice, I wouldn't count on this program to immigrate; try to find different alternatives that you might qualify for.
