Hey Raj,

What type of 'additional documents' did they ask from you?

They haven't asked anything yet. I sent them my work experience documents, my POF documents and the receipt of having ordered a ECA copy to OINP upfront!

I sent the first 2 because I had made these changes in my EE profile AFTER I sent my application!

I hope the second point of the excerpt from the application guide below shall not apply in my case.

Incomplete Nominee applications will not be accepted by OINP and will be returned to you. An application may be deemed incomplete if:
 The Nominee Application Form is illegible or incomplete (all fields must be completed and questions that are not applicable should be marked “N/A”);
 The required supporting documents are not provided;
 Documents requiring translation are not certified or notarized; or
 The application fee is not included in the application package or is submitted in an incorrect amount.

I mean that they are saying in the application guidelines that if required supporting documents are not provided then they will return the application.

So if I were to include the said work experience without LOR but with appointment letter etc they may return the application. This is causing a lot of confusion and nervousness

Letter of recommendation is a mandatory document. If you do not provide it, your application might be returned by Ontario. If you employer isn't giving you a letter, then submit a letter from your colleague/supervisor and get it notarized. Submit the ID card/business card of the person who gave you the reference. Submit all supporting documents such as payslips , offer letters and appointment letters etc.

I wish I could include these documents, but the problem is that previous companies have been downsized and operations have completely ceased. So cant do this.

I thought of not including previous employment as it doesnt effect my score with CIC or OPNP. But then I saw section D (Occupation and Application) of the application form, which wants to know everything I did in the past 10 years. If I show that am working then I need to provide supporting documents.

What should I Do? Include the ceased companies work experience or not?

Thank you very much for your comprehensive guide! I kinda have a dilemma here and debating whether should I apply for OINP or not.

I have just received an invitation letter from OINP. I have a CRS score of 441. I am currently working and have just reached my one year mark in Vancouver, BC on a PGWP. I graduated from Simon Fraser University located in Burnaby, BC. Up to this point, I've been living in BC for almost 8 years. So basically, I have tons of connections and strong ties in the province of British Columbia.

On the other hand, my uncle (my mom's older brother) has been immigrating to Toronto, ON for almost 15 years and is running an auto mechanic store there.I have visited him there three times in the past ten years. We kept in touch pretty well. With his connections and networking in Ontario, I would definitely have a way stronger backup than I had in BC in terms of career development if I moved to Toronto.

So here I am facing this dilemma. Should I take this chance to apply for OINP or wait for the first draw of BC (I have a BC registration score of 98, which is 7 marks lower than the minimum guaranteed invitation score of 105 for international graduate stream under BCPNP), or should I simply just wait for the Express Entry CRS cutoff score to be dropped to my level (It's very possible that the score will be lower than 450 within this year).

What the chance for me to get the OINP certificate given the fact that I have seemingly way stronger connections in BC than in Ontario?

If there a deadline for me to contact OINP office to accept the invitation after I received it? Will they send me another one in the future if I didn't accept this one?

I would very much appreciate your advices! Thank you very much for your time in advance.

Hello Mikko, you have 45 days to send your application to OINP from the date you have received the invitation. You don't have to contact them to accept the invitation.

I think Raj can give a better answer for your other questions. I think the points will drop but no one knows how long will it take to go down to 441. If you have decided to move to Ontario you can send your application and i think you can show your uncle's details as ties in ontario.

You need to provide supporting documents only for the jobs that you are claiming points for. If you not claiming points for your past jobs, you do NOT need to provide letters for that. You can highlight this in a LOE.

I can see that your ties to BC are very strong compared to your ties with Ontario. You can still apply to OINP if you can conclusively prove that if given a nomination, you will move to Ontario and make it your permanent home. Since you are falling short of a few points for your BC PNP and a direct ITA, looks like it is better that you lodge an application with OINP. The drawback here is there is a 1500 CAD processing fee. If this doesn't concern you much, I suggest you can go ahead and try to get a nomination from OINP. Several applicants in the past who have lived in other provinces in Canada have got nominations. Please note that your application will be scrutinized very carefully and the burden of proof that you will reside in Ontario lies on you. You would have to write a compelling intent/reasons to reside letter. You can get a letter of support from your uncle too that outlines how he will help you during the transition phase. You can provide his PP/PR card, DL, rental agreement as proof.

1) There is a possibility, YES! You just need to conclusively that you will move to Ontario if given a nomination. The onus of proving this lies on you.
2) After PT, you have to send them a complete application within 45 days. If you miss this deadline,the PT expires. You will not get a second PT for the same profile. However, you can re-create your EE profile which might again make you eligible to get a PT.

This is only my opinion. The decision, of course, is yours!

Hi Raj,

The requirement in the reference letter says that the annual salary needs to be mentioned. I understand that I should mention the correct salary. I do not have the increment letter that's shows my annual salary when I left the last company. Will OINP verify my salary incase I mention an amount that does not match the company records. Will this be taken seriously?

The exact (or the actual) value isn't much of their concerns as much as the fact that your job was a paid one.

Thank you so much for your analysis of my situations and the advices on how to make a compelling letter of intent! I think I'll wait for a week or two for BCPNP to give their first draw and see what's the real minimum invitation score for the first round of invitation. And if I didn't remember it wrong, an applicant can apply for multiple PNP programs from different provinces at the same time, but can only accept one nomination if multiple nominations are received, correct?
