Good afternoon guys,
I have received my NOI last thursday (CRS 393, NOC 2171) and I´m stacking my documents to make the OINP profile. If possible, I´d appreciate some help from you who are going or have already went through the OINP process.
Here´s my checklist:
1. NOI from CIC page (duh)
2. Passport (mine and spouse)
3. Birth certificate + certified translations (mine and spouse)
4. Marriage certificates (my spouse had divorced prior to marrying me and her old certificate confirms the divorce, so I´m having both to prove we´re legally married) + certified translations
4. IQAS ECA, foreign certificates, foreign transcripts + certified translations (mine and spouse)
5. IELTS TRF form (mine and spouse)
6. Employer reference letters (from jobs that I claimed points) - those won´t need translation, they´ll be done in english + business cards from former/current boss
7. Work contract from old job and office assumption instrument from current (public job, there is no work contract) + translations
8. Proof of compensation:
- Income tax documents from 2015 to 2017. I will only provide personal data, payment and tax summary sections, or else I´ll have to translate 20 pages from EACH year!
- Pay slips from old job: first and last month (feb/2014 and sep/2014, I also have mar/2017 if necessary)
- Pay slips from current job: first and last six available (nov/2016 to apr/2017, may/2017 will probably be available this week)
- I will provide certified translations for everything
9. Settlement funds:
- All funds are in my spouse´s accounts
- Bank letter and statements (last six months) from bank account + certified translations
- Broker account letter and statements (since february, when the account was opened) from bank account. They can provide documents in english, so no need for translation. They´ll certify that the funds are unencumbered and readily transferable to her bank account in the letter
- Since all the funds are in spouse´s name, I´ll provide a notarized proxy letter authorizing me to use the accounts as I will (for each bank) + certified translations
9.1. Since funds have less than six months old, I´ll send supporting documents to proof source of funds
- Car sale in february - proof of sale (copy of signed and notarized car transfer document)
- Another car sale in april - this one will have the car transfer document and a contract, because we sold the car prior to clearing the car document status, and I´ll explain it in the LOE. The car was still in the name of the leasing bank, and the old owner has only found the transfer document last week. We´ll have to clear the lease, transfer to the old owner (the leasing company won´t transfer directly to my wife), then to my wife, then finally to the buyer. I´m dying inside to know that I´ll have to pay THREE car transfer fees, but it´s for a good reason...
- FGTS (work leave warranty fund) withdraw slips
- Tax return slips, and bank statments with the corresponding credit
- Gift deed from father-in-law with the remaining funds (we are CAD 4k short, we didn´t expect the NOI that soon!), probably by this week, He´ll issue a notarized gift deed - in Brazil sent by notaries as an Asset Donation Deed
- All documents will have their own certified translations
10. Résumé - will work on that during the week, my current one in portuguese already follows the canadian/NA standard, so it´s basically doing a translation.
11. Intent to reside in Ontario - will apply for a few jobs, and will also attach all my history regarding my interest to Ontario (which includes an e-mail chat with Conestoga College staff), and a brief settlement plan. Also, I DO have a tie in Ontario - one of my wife´s best friends is a canadian PR since 2013. She already told she can provide the PR card copy and a letter confirming the tie and telling she will help us with adaptation and job seach and reference (which she is actually doing as of now)
Well, having listed all that, I ask from you:
1. Do I need anything else, or am I good? If so, I expect to have everything ready by the end of the month, worst case early august. That´ll only depend on how long I take to clear the 2nd car´s situation.
2. Do I REALLY need the income tax documents, having work contracts and pay slips already? Aren´t those two enough?
3. Do I REALLY need more than two pay slips for each work, or am I safe if I provide sequential slips only for current job? I´ll have a hell of a time searching from old slips from my previous job. Also, from the current job, should I send all the six last slips, or three are enough (plus the first)? I ask that (and item 2 as well) because of certified translation expenses (cheapest I found was CAD 30-35 each page here in Brazil).
4. Does anyone know if they´ll ask for a hard ECA from IQAS, and how should I request it?
5. I had other jobs in the last 10 years (four companies, four years), but since I didn´t claim any points from them (hence they´re not relevant), I didn´t search from job history paperwork from those - and I don´t even have anything from them except for the work and welfare booklet (CTPS) registrations, sort of a simplified work contract and mandatory work document in Brazil. Can I place this information as personal information just as done in the federal EE profile, or MUST I regard all of them in the OINP profile as work experience? If I have to do the latter, should I simply don´t state any information and place what I´ve personally done in the past (I can do that without gaps), or should I place the work history, the work booklet page (and certified translations for each) and explain in the LOE I don´t have anything else from those past jobs?
Well, sorry for the enourmous piece of text, but I have one bullet, and it´ll cost me $1500, so I can´t miss. I thought about waiting to finish my postgrad (early september) and then do another ECA to go to 420-428 (my wife will repeat IELTS), but then I´d have to wait until late october best case scenario. After this 449 CRS draw, I´m positive opting for OINP in my specific case is a better bet, and I want to live in Ontario anyway (GTA or KWC if my wife´s friend can´t fetch a job for either of us in her company).
Thanks in advance, and good luck for all!
