If i were in your place, i would have booked two IELTS tests at different test centers. It wont be a difficult thing to improve your score from 6.5 to 7 with some preparation. You can even join some IELTS test preparation course if you r not very confident. All this wont cost more than 25 to 30K and you will surely get the ITA before April. If you choose OINP, you have to pay above 75K and it takes more than 3months time to get the nomination. So looking at time-wise or money-wise, Improving IELTS score is better option in my opinion.
Yes, I would suggest the OP to re-take the IELTS test and try to get CLB - 9. It will drastically increase the CRS.

@Samarah.singh, be positive and aim for the best, you should go the IELTS way rather then spending 1500 CAD on OINP, the decision is your off course but you will surely get an invite if you get a CRS of 465.

Hello,
I need clarification please, is it true the ONIP do not attend to applicant document for provincial nominee in the month of December and January?

Per OINP Questions & Answers webpage (under The Process - How long will take Ontario to process my application?):

Applicants submitting applications in person must note that reception staff are not authorized to provide application advice or review the completeness of applications Please also note that Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program does not process applications during the months of January and December and that time accumulated during this period is not included in the processing time calculation for applications.

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) aims to meet our service standards in at least 80% of all applications.

However, there have been cases where applicants have received AOR's and nominations during these months.

I think OINP does not completely stall processing during the months of December and January, but it is definitely a lot slower during these months.

Hope this helps!

That was the official information but there quite a few AORs and nominations were issued in Dec/Jan. Check the spreadsheet (link in signature).

Hi Rajkamalmohanram,

My spouse has submitted his application under express entry pool. His current CRS score is 364.

I wanted to know:

1) which provinces can nominate us under this score?
2) We are willing to move to Ontario. Any chance we can think of that with this score?
3) Should we start applying for jobs through Job Bank portal?

PS: We are trying to get work permit from his employer, hopeful to receive it. Our score (364+600) will then be a sure shot to get Nomination immediately.

Best Regards,
Rinki

I wanted to know:

1) which provinces can nominate us under this score? A: IMO Look for provinces that has his NOC under demand e.g. Sask, BC etc. because ON only sends P/T NOI for scores greater than 400 only.
2) We are willing to move to Ontario. Any chance we can think of that with this score? A: Sorry to say this but not unless you can improve your IELTS Score to CLB9 (if not already) to improve your CRS to greater than 400.
3) Should we start applying for jobs through Job Bank portal? A: Yes, you can but in my own experience it doesn't help much unless you are eligible to work in Canada, no employer even gives your resume a side glance.

PS: We are trying to get work permit from his employer, hopeful to receive it. Our score (364+600) will then be a sure shot to get Nomination immediately.
A: Sorry to break this but a work permit won't fetch you those additional 600 CRS points unless you have the LMIA from a prospective employer.
Best Regards,
Rinki
All the very Best!

Need some clarity on your response:

1) What is IMO?
2) NOC code is 'A' for my spouse and I. We both have 5 years of Foreign Work Experience. Can you suggest which Province can come back to us based on this status?
3) Once my spouse receive an employment offer from his Employer (LMIA approved), then we should be getting 600 additional points

Best Regards,
Rinki

These days it takes north of 8-10 weeks (sometimes even 12) by email.

Hi CanadaWeCome,

Thank you for your response

His NOC category is 'A' and code is 2171, CLB - 8 (same for me too). Please suggest if any province can nominate us based on our status.

Rinki

You indicated in your previous query that your spouse would be getting a LMIA backed job offer? In that case, why do you need a provincial nomination?
