I provided such a letter. My referee was not called. At least not till date.

Same here. But they haven't called my referee either. My application is already in the 'Decision Phase' - should I inform my referee to anticipate a call?

your file is already in Decision phase. so nothing to worry. Why would they give a phone call now. they will just give nomination

why did you send your manager's business card?

best strategy is just to provide what is asked for, no more no less.

too much of "good thing" is just as bad as falling short.. it makes your application suspicious

I took a reference letter from my Manager regarding my role, resp. on plain paper, notarized and attached my Manager's business card.

I am in the same company for 5 years. If they reach my Manager, they will get a good feed back and confirmation.

This Manager is always in meetings, travelling and hardly picks all due to his engagement!!! Very Scary !!! Let's hope OINP does not call.

that's why I asked: what if he didn't pick up their calls? what then?

This is one instance when they have called the manager. They might come out with many such changes in future. When february applications will be processed they might even call your neighbours and friends

They will ask questions like

* what is the age of MZASAM
* what time MZASAM go to office and come back

..ya and if they are not satisfied with that, they can also arrange for Narco test of applicant and his manager.

What was your phone call about? Were you asked for any add. docs post the call? Did you receive any email stating your application is being moved to 'decision phase'?

Yes I received the email about application being moved to decision phase (after a first one referring to assessment phase earlier the same day). Then last week again received a call which was more of an interview about my work responsibilities (I am self employed). The caller said he will be sending an email with additional documents, which I received yesterday (ECA and updated bank statements) with instructions to send those within 15 days. I had actually ordered the ECA duplicate report since May so I just sent an email with the payment confirmation as well as the updated bank statements.

well April is a old story. Shashidhar got file moved to decision phase before few days. so now no more phone calls. LOL you want all officers to just sit on one file ? let them go ahead they have many other files to clear !!!!

Why did they call your manager? Dint you put your phone number anywhere in CV?
