OINP Application sent in November 2015

Looks like our wait will be over soon and our next summer should be in Canada . Btw even I haven't received any additional documents request or any phone calls yet.

Guys..I got a call from OINP today. A lady called me..I do not remember her name. But she was very warm and friendly. She asked me about my work experience and she said she does not have a good idea about the day to day duties and responsibilities of a software developer. I explained everything to her. She noted down everything and read it back to me to confirm if it was correct. She did not have any other questions apart from the work experience stuff. When I explained her that I worked for a canadian banking client and developed their mobile app, she said she is a customer of that bank and uses the app regularly and exclaimed : "Aah.so you people from India are the brains behind that app. Very nice!" She said she is happy with the details I gave her and mentioned that she was going to pass the file to a senior analyst who will give the final decision.

Then i asked her the big question : When can I expect a nomination? I told her that it had been a long wait and we were kept in the dark for so long without any updates. She apologised and said she understands how frustrating it is. She said that it should take a month at the most but not more than that to get my nomination if all goes well with the senior analyst review.

It seems they are calling people with software profession only.I'm not sure, but I guess few pages back in this topic, another software guy got a call.

what actual questions were they asking? I mean, were they expecting it to match with your reference letters or resume that u sent????

OINP seems to be working in express mode. I just got an email saying my application is moved to decision phase. Thats like 3 updates in the last 3 days. I was dying for one during the last 5 months.

Mail subject : XHSW-16011XX - Notification - Referral of Nominee Application to the Decision Phase

Mail content is pretty much template stuff..looks like OINP has sorted out the timely status updates stuff.

IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION
Re: Entrepreneur Stream

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has launched an online application process to make it easier to register an Expression of Interest (EOI), make it easier to apply to the Entrepreneur Stream if invited, and improve processing times for applicants.

EOIs that were received before 11:59 p.m. EDT, August 28, 2016, will be part of the first draw. Results of the first draw will be announced in the coming days.

Draws occur periodically throughout the year with results from each draw posted online. EOIs are valid for a period of one year (12 months) from the date of receipt. Entrepreneurs are welcome to submit another EOI if they are not invited to apply before their EOI expires. Please refer to the Entrepreneur Stream Guide for more information.

Our ministry is committed to improving its application and business systems. Additional online application systems are being developed over the coming months.

Thats one of the reasons they stopped issuing PTs and slowed down the process.

They asked me to expand on the roles and responsibilities and ny daily activities as a senior software engineer. I am not sure if she was trying to match what i say with my profile. It felt more like she had little or no idea of what a software developer does on a daily basis.

They will definitely speed up the process to get rid of this whole manual thing. good for us
