Hi Everyone,

I applied for my parent's visitor visa on October 12th. They completed their biometrics on October 15th but I got a visa refusal(on dec 11) for them. I was inviting them for a month because I am pregnant (Due in end of March 2025). I am here on work permit and my husband is a Canadian citizen and my spousal permanent residence application is left with background verification. My parents showed 30,000 cad bank balance and 1.5 million dollars property evaluation signed by Indian CA. They also showed their business and tax returns from last 3 years. My mom is house wife and my dad run two business. This is the refusal message they received.

"I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR .I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors:

• The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application.

• Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable)."

Can someone help in figuring what must have gone wrong? I thought inviting them into Canada on parental support during my pregnancy would be a solid reason to get the visa quickly. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!
Hi Shiva, same case as yours. Pregnant and due mid march 2025, parents visitor visa refused, first applied in October, refusal received Nov mid, same reasons as yours.
Again applied with some changes on 29th December and again refusal received Today within 5 days, not sure how they processed?. now one reason of purpose of travel is not consistent is same and second reason they mentioned you have sufficient ties in Canada. Don't know what they mean about this reason.
So much confused and frustrated. I am on work permit and spouse is on closed work permit. No PR application, no properties here.. It seems they are not even going through the documents.

If you think you have a solid documentation
You should raise a webform ( they call it reconsideration)
You can check on YouTube for the procedure
Or get a agent to help with your application
What have you changed in your new application?
enough bank balance ?
- try short trip like 2 weeks or so
- Show enough ties back home ( property valuation, itr )

I am thinking about re applying again
But collecting more information about it
Please do let us know what have you changed in your new application
And yes if I were you I will find a agent and consult with them for sure
Good luck

Thinking of reconsideration only as for now, I have added notarized affidavit with details along with invitation letter, medical certificates from the doctor for both of my parents and added more financial documents, also mentioned that me and my husband are the sponsor for all their expenses though they are financially stable. Trip mentioned was short only 3-4 weeks. Earlier it was 2 months, this time mentioned only 3-4 weeks. Mentioned the property, investments and family back home. My mom is retired banker, mentioned that she has to visit bank for manual filling of her life certificate to continue receiving her pension. Don't know what they are looking for.
All the best to you too. Hoping the best for both of us.

What did you put it in your purpose of visit ? And what did you mention on your doctor note
I heard family visit and visiting their grandkid . it’s the best way to go rather than inviting them for helping you during the pregnancy!!
On top of that use gc key portal not the new one ( I heard they use AI software to filter all the documents on new portal )

Purpose of visit includes both Celebrating the arrival of grandchild and spending some family time together. Doctor's note was about pregnancy support though. Used the GC key portal both times.

Did they update the eligibility as completed? Or directly refused application?

Dear All,

Today i received refusal for my TRV (Visitor Visa) after 85 days.

Reason:-

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by
paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-227/
section-179.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will
leave Canada, based on the following factors:

• You do not have significant family ties outside Canada.

• The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the
details you have provided in your application.

I wanted to meet my long time girlfriend who lives in Canada on PR and wants to spend some quality time with her and celebrate my birthday.

Note:- I have showed funds of INR 22 Lakhs (My salary INR 45,500 and one shop rent is also coming into my account INR 40,000. (CAD $ 36,000/-) in my girlfriends account CAD $ 13,000. I have home in my name which i showed in my application. We are 2 persons who lives in it me and my mother. also i submitted Invitation letter from my Girlfriend.

I have a quick question. Should i go for the Judical Review? What is the best option of Lawyer if anyone know. What are the fees of the lawyer and how much time it will take for the Judical Review answer?

Urgent need help.

Thankyou in advance

Visitor visa (Delhi, India)
Applied on - Oct 22
Biometric done - Already done from last application
Biometric Update- Oct 24
Background verification- Under process
No update after
Does it usually take that long or should I be concerned about it?

Getting a TRV as a single person is difficult because you cannot show family ties to return. Funds are not the issue but ties to return. Coming to celebrate a birthday is not a strong reason and given your GF is PR then IRCC will suspect that you have no intention of leaving. Having GF write letter may not have helped you. Did you even order GCMS notes? JR is if there is an error in law and costly. Also if you ”win” your JR then it doesn’t mean your visa is approved. Just means a new officer reviews file and can still be refused. Sometimes easier to reapply with strong proof of ties to return.

Hello! My wife and I applied for a visitors visa to Canada in October 2024. We hoped that since it was only a renewal and as our biometrics were still valid, our visas will be approved fast. But it is still pending even after 45 days. We are planning to visit USA in February next year and the question I would like to ask is whether we can submit our passports for stamping at Canadian embassy in USA (in case we donot receive any communication from IRCC before we leave for USA) or whether we should be India till our passports are stamped. Alternatively, whether we should apply afresh from USA. An early reply will be much appreciated as the time is very short.

We got our visas approved on 21 Jan 2025 and submitted our passports on 22nd. Got a mail from IRCC that our passports are under process, today. How long do we have to wait for our passports?
