Visitor visa (Delhi, India)
Applied on - Oct 22
Biometric done - Already done from last application
Biometric Update- Oct 24
Background verification- Under process
No update after
Does it usually take that long or should I be concerned about it?

Nothing to be concerned about as processing is almost 4 months or more.

Hi guys,

VV From INDIA
Applied - 01 Oct
Bio- already in the file ( previous refusal 3 years ago)
final decision - 09 dec

I just received a refusal letter for my brother visitor visa. Here are the reasons :

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-227/section-179.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors:

• You do not have significant family ties outside Canada. (
family ties , married- wife in India, one baby girl just 14 days old) (I Didn't get time to inform ircc about birth of new baby girl, I was assuming 100+ days processing time)

• The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application. (3 weeks vacation from 21st Dec to 12 Jan 2025)

anyone what should I do now ( as a rep) should I apply again with more detailed explanation for the above two mentioned reasons or should I wait for ATIP notes? please provide your valuable suggestions.

Have you apply GCMS notes? If yes, so just wait for notes.

Hello! My wife and I applied for a visitors visa to Canada in October 2024. We hoped that since it was only a renewal and as our biometrics were still valid, our visas will be approved fast. But it is still pending even after 45 days. We are planning to visit USA in February next year and the question I would like to ask is whether we can submit our passports for stamping at Canadian embassy in USA (in case we donot receive any communication from IRCC before we leave for USA) or whether we should be India till our passports are stamped. Alternatively, whether we should apply afresh from USA. An early reply will be much appreciated as the time is very short.

We applied on October 20th. We are having valid usa tourist visas and have a good travel history to USA since 2016 and Canada twice (once for 3 months and the second one for just a week) this year. Our biometrics are still valid for another 7 years and acknowledged by IRCC. We fit under CAN+ category. There were two ghost updates but we are donot know what they related to.

Hi,

I did not know of CAN+ until now. My parents has 4-5 US visits since 2016, and also recently renewed US visa until 2034. From India, of course. We applied on Sept 11, were we supposed to take any additional step to get qualified for CAN+? I did not care to inquire the status until now as it’s still under the processing time given, but if we can do anything to get their application processed under CAN+?

Hi,

What additional step(s) did you take to qualify for CAN+? My parents have US visa and have made 4-5 US visits since 2016, and also recently renewed their US visa. This is their first Canada application which they did on sept 11. Can we do anything at this point to get it qualified under CAN+? At time of application we did not know of Can+.

Hello,
Even we were not aware of can+ facility while applying. I came to know of this through others’ posts. I think when an agent is processing our application , if he finds that we have a valid US visa and a good travel history, he will transfer the file for faster processing.
