Our medicals are taking forever. One of the dependent children who is living in the Philippines spent too much time around the street pollution, cigarette smoke of her father etc and set off a trigger for tuberculosis or something. So that's costing me, the stepfather, a fortune to fly them back and forth for X-rays and sputum tests. Medicals started back in January and we're still here doing it, final X-ray should be sometime in July I think. Then I'm sure there will be a good wait after that as we go through all the security stuff etc etc. I wish I had more interesting news to report here, you would think that they could run things in parallel in cases like this. The kids aren't even coming along to Canada, so this basically adds 6 months to our wait for no reason. This is a nice hellish process.

Excellent, congrats on the DM! According to IRCC, you should receive a request to pay the RPRF once the application is approved. (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1396&top=4) PPR will be follow after this. Just hang in there!

I am yet to receive the PPR, doing best to maintain my patience.

Hello I am also sponsoring my north african husband. our file is in paris as well. we sent in our app sep24, and still have not done medical but did the biometrics back in january.. where is your hubby from?

Where did you have the medical done?
Nationwide Health Systems Cebu Inc

Another user warned me of the risk of a scam with sputum testing potentially occurring at St Lukes Hospital Extension in Manila.

It would be particularly insidious if there was scamming being done at this point in the process, considering that we've already gone through a huge numbers of hurdles, obstacles and scams already to get to this point.

I have no way of knowing what is legitimate or not. We started the medicals in late January and we've been given a date for "sometime in July" for the "last" X-ray.

I don't know if I continue to go through with this whole process with this clinic, or if it would be wiser to just take the medical file and go to St. Luke's Main Hospital, which is where the other user recommended I go. Maybe they would take one look at the file and give me a green light for immigration. Or maybe I would just be interfering with a legitimate long process and making my situation even more difficult.

See I have no real way of knowing what is right here.
