An October applicant from Manila Visa Office already got DM And passport request last Friday. Another November applicant got the same DM and PPR that day. Other September applicants received pre-arrival invitation and update background check has started

Happy to hear there is some movement! Wow, someone from our group got PPR already?! I’m stuck in background check, I have no idea how long it will take. I recieved the pre arrival services email more than a month ago now, so it seems based on other forum members my wait could go on for a few more months.

I hope others get some good news soon! It helps with morale thats for sure

My application is supposed to be processing at Mississauga...still no word that they've started BGC though. Received AOR2 Feb 1. I know it'll take a while, but not getting updates is driving me crazy...as I'm sure it's driving everyone else nuts too.

Sheesh!! Well, hang in there...lol there is no other choice but to do so. Hopefully some more movement soon though!

Some visa offices are working fast and some are extremely slow. My file is in Singapore visa office from the 3rd January and there is NO movement. May applicants are crying to get medical request from Singapore visa office. I am sitting quietly after getting some patience from them

Waiting to receive my CSQ and waiting for BGC to start. My application was transfered to the Vienna VO and I'm a little tense because they are known to be slow...

Hi guys well this is my timeline so far.
Not so familiar with the abbreviations but here goes:
Application received by IRCC in Mississauga: 5/10/17
Sponsor approval: 21/11/17
Medical request: 22/11/17
Police clearance and Schedule A (background check): 24/11/17
Sent to Visa office Mexico: 2/1/18

Now just waiting.

Hello Guys, Maybe you can help me here and but my worries at ease.

I am(a Canadian Citizen in AB) sponsoring my wife in Egypt and I have sent my application on OCT 25 2017.

1. On Dec 11 2017 I got auto email from cic acknowledgment of Application and given me UCI# and Application# and it was asking me to link application and i did it.
2. On Dec 18 2017, i received a letter that i am have met the requirement as a sponsor and the CPC in Mississauga will continue to hold the Application until IMM5669 (background declaration- Schedule A), while My spouse received a email asking for the IMM5669 and A police Certificate and it should be submitted before Jan 18 2018.---> and we did right away before the end of year.

Now, its 9th of February 2018 and we have not received any confirmation or anything letting us know whether the uploads were successful or as matter of fact any update. (while our deadlines was "This must be received at this office by: 2018/01/18"). I have given them a call to ask if the updates were successful or not and the person i was taking to said yes.

Now, i have not heard anything from them on anything even on the Account there is no update, as i am going into a month from the their deadline.
I was wondering if this is normal to take that long for any update (even online), while the entire sponsorship should take about 12 month.

Nope! It seems that the Vienna VO either sends the pre-arrival email with the PPR or just a couple of days before. Hanging in there

Hi @canadian2002! Is your VO Vienna? Because I saw that your BGC started in December and they still haven't started ours yet!

Hey there! Yes, it's Vienna. According to the spreadsheet there seems to be two of us with BGC in process at Vienna VO... I think the other person is someone who applied in June or July. I'm not sure how much longer the BGC will take for us because it seems that they don't usually update that in Vienna and just go from BGC to DM to PPR in a matter of days. But I'll keep you updated when we hear something and hope yours will start asap!!
