Oh!

Oops. Ok - I don't think I know what the acronyms mean... can someone help me out!? Sorry - didn't mean to mislead. What is an AOR2?
AOR2 will be signed by Local VO as Immigration Section of local VO (not CPC-M)

AOR2 mean Acknowledgement of Receipt of your Application from PA's Visa Office

Thanks so much for the clarification :) I'm so new to all of this. Just been trying to catch up with all the threads. I will leave out the acronyms for now lol.

that is just what i have read on this forum, i may be mistaken too.

Does anyone know what happens after the AOR2?

Thanks so much :)
As posse mentioned AOR2 for some candidates is like the email you received, or also the line in ECAS which says “we started processing your application on December 7” (in your case). Some VOs don’t sent out letters so we take this line in ECAS as AOR2.

To answer your question, after AOR2 is apparently the longer wait in most cases. You are waiting for “Your Background check is in process” to appear in gc key, where now it’s most likely at “your application is in progress, we will notify you when we begin your background check” or something along those lines.

Some candidates are stuck here for months on end with no updates. After that is DM (decision made).

Check out the google spreadsheet, multiple people including me have posted the link in this thread for october applicants :) hope that helps

Thank you so much for all your help!

So as far as I can understand, the local VO has the application now - and they will process it. After the long "stuck period" does the background check generally indicate that the application is moving along again?

It's good if it's in progress but BGC is the longest and most laborious part of the process so it's a stage that requires patience :)

Thanks KC... yes I anticipate this will be the hardest part. I've been trying to back track in the forums. But I can't seem to find an average wait time for this period based on the user experience. Officially, it's 12 months, correct?

The target is to complete 80 percent of applications within 12m. There is no average wait time for BGC

Thanks for all the helpful information. Can I ask a general question - during the BGC period, is that when they go through all of our documents and assess whether we are eligible for PR?

I guess what I'm asking is - what exactly does the Mississauga office process? And what does the Local VO office process?

CPC M is responsible for making sure all pertinent information is there and looks good. VO (which is sometimes CPC M) does all the processing.

BGC check is all security and criminality checks. CIC shares information with worldwide organizations during this stage which is why it's so slow.

Yes great point :)
You guys are so awesome! Thank you :)

Its all making more sense now... So the local VO would be the one responsible for looking through our photos and chat logs etc? And making the final decisions I suppose.

Hey everyone, just an update...GCKey changed to "We are processing your background check" I believe today, we didn't check yesterday. Timeline is in signature.

This all seems quick, I know we're in for the longest stage now though but given how slow I've heard Vienna VO is I'm surprised...
