Hubby left yesterday and will reach the border tomorrow and be here later that night (I hope) ! SO EXCITEDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!

Congrats! My wife is at the airport now. About to leave. Will land tomorrow night around 7p.m. Toronto time.

So they received my PPR documents yesterday and my tracking number for the return mail is activated! Very impressed with the turnaround! Can't wait to have the COPR in my hands :D

My application has been approved as of this morning and the CoPR is already on its way!

Super fast turnaround - I sent the PPR documents this Monday to Ottawa, it arrived there on Tuesday and today (Thursday) I should receive it according to the Xpresspost tracking. Good luck to everyone! I'll let you know about my landing experience once we land! :)

T-Minus 7 hours until this is all over and life begins! (Assuming customs goes smooth and fast haha)

Yep, so you were approved as a sponsor. Now your application is forwarded to the appropriate VO where they will continue assessing it.

Hi CaroM8,
I have been reading your posts you have been so helpful, I want to share with you the time line of my application, since I noticed you are the only one in the forum that has the same visa office in Mexico as me.

I am from Ecuador and my husband Canadian from Quebec. We hired a consultant to start the process since I live in Ecuador, sometimes sending documents takes a lot of time to deliver it.
My lawyer advised us to send everything at once! (medical exams, criminal record and birth certificated all already apostile and traducted by a credited translator, and we also paid all fees for the application+ the proof of our relationship) all of this at once!

We sent our application to the CIC on October 5,2016 and by October 13, 2016 the CIC sent as a letter saying they have received our application.
By November 03,2016 they sent us another letter saying they started processing our application.
By November 14,2016 we got another letter saying my husband got approve to be my sponsor. and also CIC forwarded my case to the visa office in Mexico.
By December 5,2016 we submit an undertaking application to the province of Quebec (MIDI). our lawyer send it.
January 19,2017 they started reviewing my application for the PR card.
And February 3,2017 the MIDI sent a correspondence to my husband saying that I got the CSQ and that now we have to wait for the Visa Office in Mexico for the final step.
Well that is all so far. I don't know how long it will take the visa office in Mexico to get it done!

I am expecting to get news before July "cross fingers"

just logged in to MyCIC and saw "Your application was approved"! return envelope has not been activated yet.

Hey there!

Thanks - I'm in Toronto too, so hope they send it out quick (or let me know if there was a problem - my worst nightmare is that they will not let me know there was a problem, 30 days pass, and they refuse because I didn't comply with their regulations... I am panicking maybe I made a mistake in address/didn't address the envelope properly, or something!)

i've been paranoid about this as well. but judging by the october and september spreadsheets, the majority of people up to this point have taken at least a week to receive their CoPR after sending in their passport, and you say that CIC only received the package three days ago. also, i notice that everyone who's reporting a very fast turnaround in this thread, including me, applied through the ottawa VO. maybe there's a relation?

my plan, in the event that i saw no response, was to wait until a week before the 30 days were due to end and email CIC directly. hopefully it shouldn't come to that for you. good luck!

I was also through Ottawa. I think they maybe just have things streamlined from when the January and February PPR batches sent their stuff in.

Thanks so much! You're right, there probably is a connection to the VO as well (I only sent the passport bio page copy and photos to Ottawa as I assumed that would be faster, and it did say in the email from WVO that I can do that), I guess I'm just an anxious person by default... So yes, here's hoping all will be well at this stage as well (knock on wood!), and both you and I get our COPRs soon :) You're plan sounds good too (although my first instinct is to email them right away, haha!), wait a bit and if nothing comes within two weeks or so then get in touch with them. Good luck to you too!

So I have my COPR ;D
I'm in the GTA and was wondering if anyone can recommend a land border close by that they had a good experience with?

What does it mean when your Background check changes To NOT APPLICABLE.
Anybody experienced this before???

LANDED!!!!!!!
Had to be the most easiest landing I could ever think of! Had the nicest lady in the world. We pulled a uhaul with a trailer and the truck on a trailer, and two pitbulls. She skimmed over everything really quickly, didn't ask for the title for the truck, nor even looked at the dogs other then to feed them a cookie and said "oh we just got a new batch of flags shipped in" grabbed a flag, said welcome to canada and that was that......We were so stressed that this would be the hard part and it was the easiest out of everything....We landed at the Pembina/Emerson border.

I wish everyone luck in the upcoming landing processes and applications!
