We were thinking that since she lives very close to the Canadian border, we were wondering whether I could go pick her up in a car so that we could get her belongings all at once instead of her flying here, then going back to get her stuff. Or does she absolutely have to fly into Canada for "Landing"?

Question 2. Is there any requirement for Proof of Funds if she is being sponsored as a spouse? I'm guessing that since I've already agreed to the "undertaking", that she is not required to have POF? From my understanding POF is only for Skilled Workers?

Thanks for all the feedback!

You do not have to fly into Canada to land.

We got the PPR on 7th March, sent the passport to HKVO through VFS Global on the 9th.

About an hour ago we got a "donotreply" email. Mycic has been updated to say: "Background check Your background check was completed." and "Final decision Your application was approved. Check your messages below for details."

Other than that no changes. Ecas has no changes.

Did the Visa Office affix the counterfoil and send the COPR? The VFS Global tracking system still displays "no records found"

Decision made in ECAS! As mentioned by some here, my CIC still shows background check in progress.

So my spouse got her passport back with Visa today.. this long journey is over, she will be coming to canada next month.
Thanks to everyone in this forum for all the help and support. I think i speak for everyone saying this place really helped alot!!!
Thanks! :D

congrat's! Don't worry about it, they won't change until your COPR has been issued

Ottawa VO applicants: how long did it take to receive your COPR after mailing the PPR request with passport, photo, annex A?

Thanks!!

It took us a week plus one day! Sent in docs on Monday, March 6 and received CoPR on Tuesday March 14. There was a shipping error though, our stuff got sent to the wrong place (according to the tracking number and Canada Post's website) so if that hadn't happened it could have been only a week (maybe less?).

hey All,
I had DM last week and sent everything away. I am aware that cease and Mycic doesn't change until the COPR is actually issued? Is this correct? Because when I log into Mycic now I can see that it now says "a final decision has been made......" etc. Should I take this as good news and expect my COPR anyway now?
:)
thanks

Started my husband's car export paperwork yesterday and just wanted to add a reminder to those of you coming from the US that you need to export your vehicle from the US before you can import it into Canada. Every border crossing has their own specific requirements to export but they usually need to begin processing no less than 72 hours before you plan to export. Just something to keep in mind if you hadn't looked into it yet!

You received your PPR and sent those papers away, yes? If so, no matter what eCAS and myCIC says you should expect your CoPR imo. Mine didn't update to say approved until a day or two before I received my CoPR and some of it still hasn't updated!
