You haven't submitted your FBI yet? Were you able to get it before you did send your app? I included my FBI with my app.. I think they opened my app already! Because I haven't done anything unusual from the first time I've been linking it.. I already have an application number based on mycic.. :) But I did try the option without it..

Don't worry, they will request the FBI soon enough when they start processing yours.

Omg. So excited. +1 you!

We submitted without the FBI Clearance because of how long it took and other members had said it was fine to send without and then mail in later. But then our FBI Clearance came early only a week after we sent the application! Lol. And thank you! I'm excited too! Your's also seems to have gotten into myCIC really quickly, congrats!

It's been taking on average 19 days for applications filed in October to get their AOR1 which contains their file number. Another way to get your file number is to try creating a myCIC account and linking it to your application by entering information from your application. It took me 17 days to link mine.

Hello Everyone. I have applied for my wife. I am a Canadian citizen and she is in Iran. The application was received in Mississauga on OCT.24/2016. I was wondering when making the MYCIC account should I make it for myself (sponsor) or my wife (sponsored person). Also is it possible that she gets the email and not me? Thanks everyone for your help.

I checked mine and it is working. Try to delete the browser cookies.

yeah, tried all this, tried incognito etc.. eventually i just got pissed off and kept hitting 'back' every time it threw me out, and finally it worked, then logged in through my phone (been trying with the laptop), and now both the mobile and laptop work. Must've been their website. So all is well (knock on wood). Also, passed the medicals, according to the application status on mycic, so now we're waiting (hopefully) for SA :)

Oh, thats great than. So any messages they send me, like SA or document request etc. will be visible on mycic?

This statement isn't entirely accurate. Document requests, as I understand it, yes, will be visible there.

Sponsor approval is not stated outright in MyCIC. There were signs that showed up on mine (certain things changed), but it doesn't explicitly say you've had sponsor approval or give the date in there. As for the AOR e-mail, that did arrive, one day after my file number changed from XF to F, but it came to me instead of to my sponsor. ECAS still isn't showing that my husband was approved as a sponsor, even though he was.

If you don't care about having the actual e-mails for the milestones like sponsor approval and AOR, it's probably fine not to worry about it too much, though it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to double check that they have your e-mail addresses correct. I think someone from the July thread ran into a situation where their husband didn't receive the PPR e-mail because they had the address wrong, and that's not a good position to be in.

In our case because we're both going to be doing border crossings by car over the holidays, we want to have those just to prove that we're going through the process properly and that our case is progressing, in addition to the receipt for paying all the fees.

I was finally able to link my wife's application to mycic. Her File number starts with an F000.... we haven't received any email communication yet regarding the aor1 or Sa. Should I be worried?

Hi. When did you file your app? If the file number starts with F, you will hear from them soon enough. You do not have to worry.. From what I've read according to danawhitaker's post, the original file number starts with XF and when it changed to F, your AOR is coming. Mine still starts with XF. :D
Thank you. Mine was received on Oct.24 at Mississauga office. Hope to hear from them soon. I can check ecas. Does anyone know why?

Are there any other October applicants still waiting to receive AOR1? I haven't received an email yet with my application number

I guess I would like to check if they have everything right in their system. If I (the applicant) call them, will they give me any info? Or should my husband call (sponsor)? Has anybody from here tried to call CIC recently?

Got my AOR1 this morning! Woooo! :D

Just Got AOR1 Email! but can't check anything on ECAS. Is this Normal? should I wait longer to be able to check ECAS?
