Happy New Year, I woke up to 2015 with an email sent in the middle of the night from cic.gc.ca (I'd make sure this suffix is deemed non-spam in your email settings) assigning an 8 digit UIC number, an "application number" that started with "F000" (obviously for "Family"), and wording addressed to the sponsor that included
"This confirms that your application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2014/10/17 on behalf of the following member(s): [name]"'

I am, of course, disappointed that after 76 days, still no sponsorship approval notice, particularly when this is a far longer time than when I sent the application. If SA appears on Monday, it'll be 80 days to SA for me, so I suggest that people prepare themselves for this sort of timeframe for SA unless they can pick up the pace.

Hi Brian,

I'm in the same boat buddy, but we're up next! :)

Looks like they've got back to work and are hopefully in a good mood to dole out the SA's for all Oct Applicants!

Good luck to you all and hope we all are in Canada in 2015! ;D

I think they probably work on Sat (maybe half day?) as my AOR was received on Saturday at 2pm.
No communication received from them on a sunday so hard to say whether they work on sunday as well.

Thanks Draxz, I've just got AOR yet, not got SA, but at this stage, I'm happy to just see any kind of acknowledgement from them!

Looks like you're going to be next! :)

Hope your SA takes less time than mine has taken!
Hoping that for everyone on this forum!
Luck ought to be on *somebody's* side at least!!!!

No, the request came along about 55 days after I submitted the application on May 28, 2014, then again about 40 days after that.

As mentioned before, I received AOR on Dec. 23rd. Application received Oct. 16th.

There is no sign of SA yet. I understand that we had holidays so timeline is still not worrying.

But when I logged in in eCas, it had an old mailing address from the time I applied for PR renewal. My only worry is that in the event they return my application for any reason, without contacting me by email for additional documents, I won't know or have access to the application returned.

I am hating this stress like everyone. One tries to focus on their professional endeavors in Canada, yet this process is highly inefficient for a first world country ::). I call the toll-free phone line and I get hang up on by the system for long wait times and suggesting to call another time. Very frustrating.

On eCas, just noticed that Medical results have been received in the PR application section. Still no SA...

yep, stressful

we called CIC today, no new information. they gave us temporary number, but no info about our case at all. also the agent told us they are working on files received on Oct 16th - same information we had a week ago. and guy said to call in 2 weeks if nothing changes. great...

the last 2 weeks were holidays, so it's quite understandable if productivity was a little slower. everyone everywhere's productivity was slower. things will pick back up now that it's back to normal.
