It seems like most people who had submitted their application on Sept 30th have heard back, which means they will be starting to work on Oct 1st, 2nd, 3rd this week as well.

Just wait patiently - I am doing the same :(.

My biggest fear is what if they didn't get the package, or what if we are missing documents even though I submitted every single thing and I checked it over 100 times before I sent it over.

oh well - we shall find out soon.

Exact same content? Really? So this AOR really was too good to be true. When I read the letter, I was thinking I haven't seen anybody else on spreadsheet mentioned AOR.

I was hoping not to need to call CIC ever. Oh well I hope I get a nice and happy agent.

I have just experienced the same issue, receiving an AOR in e-mail that refers to an in-Canada sponsorship. Unfortunately, at this moment the CIC call centre is hanging up rather than transferring to an agent.

Just keep re-trying. I find it best to call around 7:55 AM where the hold time is about 2 minutes.

Way too many applicants are experiencing this. Probably a new staff member who hasn't been trained properly or who can't be bothered. In the real world, you'd come across something like this and you'd be able to speak to someone in charge to ensure that the error is rectified and DOESN'T HAPPEN AGAIN.

But that's in the real world, where accountability exists...

Okay, I'm off the phone with CIC. Oddly, my application was assigned to the Ottawa office (as it should be, since I currently reside in Canada), so there was no obvious explanation for why I received the inland sponsorship AOR. The nice agent marked the application for a follow-up from CIC, and said that I should call back if I haven't heard by the end of the month.

I am confused, you are an out land applicant but you chose Ottawa as your visa processing office?
Just trying to understand; I dont know how it fully works

Ottawa is considered as an outland visa office.
It deals with US cases and with people who live in Canada for at least 1 year and hold a valid status in canada ( work permit or study permit for example). :)

Looks like CIC lives in a parallel universe lol

It seems the agents at CIC all use the placating method, by saying call back in a month or the end of the month. They essentially pass the buck onto the next agent. I dealt with them enough on my proof of citizenship. They were all polite, but full of vague and varying explanations.

bonjour everyone!

bound to quebec by God's grace and mercy. glad I found this thread for October applicants.
