October 2014 Citizenship Applications

I appeared for my Citizenship test yesterday in Scarborough at 9 AM and scored 20/20 and had a quick interview before the officer telling me that I would be expecting my Oath letter in 2-4 months now.

Just my two cents on the preparation of the test (even though it has been mentioned before in this forum), please go through your study guide only. All the questions will be asked from it. The questions are fairly easy except one or two which stir confusion but if you understand the topic carefully, you'd ace the test. Since you need only 15 marks to pass the test, it is going to be really easy.

Anybody from Scarborough, who got Oath letter after the test, what is the timeline for that? Does it really take 2-4 months for Oath letter to arrive?

I called they refused to open the ecas even. she said we dont reply before 24 months.

I understand your frustrations. Just strange because my application was submitted at end of October 2014 and yours is earlier than mine you should have at least taken the Test by now... :-[ Call them again until you find the right agent to help you ..if i were you because some are very helpful and will open your file. Hope you will have a good news soon. Good luck.

This is a very good news. I really hope she's gonna get it soon. I just checked her ecase and it is still as usual, nothing new. hopefully she will receive something this coming weeks... Congrats to you

Yeah she will get the Decision Made soon then they will send the letter for oath. Just always check her ECAS status. As they said to her in 2-3 months so her time will come. As for me they said 4-6 weeks and it came exact time they gave. Dont worry everything will come to end soon. There's always a light at the end of the tunnel.. Good luck!!!

i just called and he refused to open the file he said process 24 month process 24 months bla bla ...

its crazy and frustrating.

my PR will expire in December and to renew the PR card it will take 6 months minimum so am hesitant to renew it.

Hello Everyone, Finally the long wait is over... Today is my day! I've got an Oath taking letter to be held at HOTEL MARRIOT in Montreal on July 15 at 1pm. I'am very happy and hoping that everyone who has the same time line with will get the good news soon. By the way to those who received an update in their ECAS after DM and which shows like this line 5 "WE SENT YOU A LETTER DATED....PLEASE CONSIDER DELAYS BEFORE CONTACTING US" well this is probably an OATH LETTER as this was happened to me. They just said they send me a letter and which is letter is that which dont know,keeps me impatient because they usually say WE SEND AN OATH TAKING LETTER... etc.. so guys it depends on the line of sentences they used do not be bothered as this is for sure an OATH TAKING LETTER. I will never forget this Forum it helps me a lot, keeps me sane when Im feeling crazy, encouraged me when im losing my hope in those times of long waiting.. : ???people here were very nice and I wish good luck to everyone!! ;D Keep you all posted for the ceremony next week... My Ecas never got updated ("Your file was transferred to the Montréal office on June 8, 2015. The Montréal office will contact you." is the lastest status) except today where is just say Citizenship Application Status - "Complete" on the first page when you log in (it was "Decision taken" before)

Hi Tony, did you get any new line as well when you click on decision made ?

My wife who applied late october and passed her test May 12th in Montreal just got decision made on her status (Fiday July 10th) but no new line when she clicks on it...

Hi Im from Montreal as well and took the exam last MAY 15 passed it. They told me 4 TO 6 weeks for the Oath taking. Last week i checked my ECAS it says Decision Made. Letter was sent july 2. Today is MONDAY july 6 and i got the letter of oath invitation in HOTEL MARRIOT montreal at 1pm July 15. I hope your wife receive the good news too since we have the same timeline. Goodluck!

Hi PUZZLED. My wife just got decision made on her status (passed the test May 12th in Montreal). Did yours got the same before you received your oath letter ? The last line in her status is still the one where they informed her for her test back in May, no other line yet...

read in other pages of this forum that it might take some time between decision made and received any letter... Hope this will not be our cases...
