Thank you, how do I get added to the timeline? I sent my application to sponsor my common law spouse October 10th and it was received on Oct 15th 2012 we received an email December 18th that it is in process. One question what does AOR mean?

AOR = Acknowledgement of receipt, when you get the letter from CIC saying that the sponsorship app has been received, so December 18 for you. If you want added to the spreadsheet, post in that thread with all of your info. Rusty53 is the one who adds people to it.

OMG--COPR RECEIVED! I was NOT expecting this now! We were asked on January 7 to provide the L.A. office with "proof of your sponsor's plans to re-establish in Canada" and sent what we had on January 27. I was about to check to see if anything else would be required and this came today. USPS registered mail--thank goodness that hubby was home to sign for it!

Four months and 23 days from mailing to delivery--WOW! Many, many thanks to everyone on these boards for all your help and support! I know I'll have more questions going forward and am sure I'll find answers here.

Gratefully yours :)

Hi. I'm also an october applicant. My husband sent the application last October 1, 2012 in mississauga. Approval for sponsorship was received November 7. We're still waiting for their notification to send my passport..been waiting for couple of months :(

Hi all,

I've posted this in another thread, but maybe as you're all october applicants, you might be able to provide some insight...

I was approved as sponsor in Dec (an email was sent which confirmed this and stated the file was being sent to the London Office). Medicals have been matched as well.

Now I, as the sponsor, can log onto ECAS with my details and check the status of the application. However, my boyfriend (the principal applicant), still can't log onto ECAS.

Is this normal? Are there any applicants that can log onto ECAS or are you just getting your sponsor to check ECAS?

Hi everyone!

Hi sara.
We both have the same experience with the ECAS. Our friends told me its quite normal and told me there's nothing to worry about.

Thanks for the reply.

I've just sorted it (some suggestions were made on another thread). I selected the 'Immigration File number/Application numbe'r. This worked - not the UCI number, which works for the sponsor.

Maybe that will work for you if you haven't already sorted it...Why do they have to make it so complicated!?

I tried it already but still can't view it :(

Hello guys!
My wife is a filipino and i started the process to sponsor her to live in Canada. We got the approval from CIC, but we dont know what to do next. The Officer from CIC told me on the phone that next my wife should pass the medical exam and send the results to Manila visa office. Can anyone explain how this medical checkup is done, where to go and pass it, and should we wait for a letter to know when to pass it, or we can pass it any time and send the results to the embassy ?

Hi there,

In case you haven't got a reply....

You need to find a 'designated doctor's office' that will do the medical. It can't be done by your own doctor. There should be a link on the government website that will help you find a doctor office that does immigration medicals.

Bring in the medical forms - there should be some sort of attachment or link on the website, also you might need pictures done as well. The doctor then does the medical and sends off the results. you do not find out the results of the medical. Only if there are any irregularities might they contact you to redo tests or to let you know if they found something. The doctor's office then sends the results/forms off to the local immigration office that deals with your case.

Hope that helps....

Thank you for your suggestion ! it really helped us. It's bad when you stuck at a step and dont know what to do next.
