Hi Ishar
Did you received your OCI card ? my oci application date is 7th Jan 2022 at BLS Toronto , Acknowledge date is 24th Jan , received original back on 25th Jan but haven't received OCI card yet.
can you please share your experience.

it was a walk-in application at BLS Toronto and they took the original canadian birth certificate of my child on 7th Jan 2022 , this document was returned to me on 25th Jan 2022.
Waiting for OCI card since then , the OCI-Services (ociservices.gov.in) shows "UNDER - PROCESS" with Ack date as 24th Jan 2022

What are your timelines ? Have you received the OCI card ?

Hey Folks, I submitted Surrender application at BLS on Jan 14 and now since a week it is showing as Surrender certificate ready for issuance. Does anyone know when do I receive it and do I need to track on BLS website or passport gov portal

Thank you.

Hello,

For entry visa - Checklist says surrender certificate is mandatory but if we are still Indian citizen then we are not required to submit surrender certificate right. This entry visa application is for my minor son.
Thanks

Hi all. First of all, pardon me for posting a slightly out of context question here but i don't know the best threads to post it.

Ques: Do traffic violations affect citizenship application?

In last 6 months I was once caught driving without license and was fined(i forgot my wallet and the license at home that day) and a few weeks back I got a ticket in my mail for over speeding. The ticket was addressed on my name but I understand that it wont be linked to my DL. It's my first speeding ticket in 4 yrs in Canada. I have challenged both for a trial and they are in pending status.

Any idea if these 2 things can affect my application? The motive here is not to decide my driving habits based on answers, but to be aware of potential of speeding tickets etc. Thanks in advance.

As long as you are not charged with an Offence that is Indictable. DUI with no body harm/death is still a Summary Offence and doesn't impact citizenship.

"" while the person is charged with, on trial for, subject to or a party to an appeal relating to an offence under subsection 21.1(1) or 29.2(1) or (2), or an indictable offence under subsection 29(2) or (3) or any other Act of Parliament"

Just an FYI almost all the driving related tickets are under Highway Traffic Act except for DUI, Reckless or Dangerous driving (still a summary offense as long as there is not body harm or death )and not Criminal Code of Canada.

So NO IMPACT!
