My passport surrender application status shows "Dispatched via Courier". It also provides the Purolator airway number.

When I checked Purolator, it shows estimated delivery date Oct 4, Monday.

Hey guys, I've got a couple of questions :

1. Do I have to sign when Purolator delivers the package or someone else can receive the package on my behalf?
2. Do you know if Purolator delivers on a Saturday?

Purolator does not deliver on weekends. Also you can manage your delivery preferences whether to drop at door or front desk etc with or without signature required.

This checklist from BLS mentions this about marriage certificates:

For those married in Canada, Marriage Certificate issued by the Ministry of the respective province to be further authenticated by the Provincial Government (for example- if married in Ontario- You may get it authenticated by Ministry of Services, Ontario: Link here: https://www.ontario.ca/page/authenticate-document-use-outside-canada#section-2 ) and then attested by the Consulate General of India, Toronto.

What does that mean? Why isn't marriage certificate issued in Ontario be enough. Why does it need to be authenticated by Ministry of Ontario when they issued it in the first place. And why does it have to attested by CGI? This sounds too complicated for no reason. We both were Indian citizens when we married in Canada.

I read about this too and this is a such an unnecessary requirement . What is even the process to get authenticated by CGI ?

Yup, this is unnecessarily complex. Apparently, they want to ensure that the document is "authenticated" by the Ministry of services in Ontario to ensure that the marriage certificate is "valid" AND CGI Toronto will "validate" that the marriage certificate is "validated by the Ministry of services". LOL.

I think best for you is to ask your Air Booking Agent and he/she will clarify your request.

Personally I don’t think such lousy idea specially for OCI Card holders to only travel on direct flight to India.

I am not really sure if they had started this recently but I have known people travelled through Abu dhabi on OCI in September and it has not been a problem.

India now allows entry of OCI Nationals. Its just that we should be traveling direct or transit from a country that is in India's air transport bubble.

Take a look at this site =>

https://www.civilaviation.gov.in/en/about-air-transport-bubbles

However, looks like they don't update this website much so tread with caution.

Also, you can check the airlines website. Most airlines now show popups when you click on "Manage Booking" option (or equivalent) or a link to check the requirements on your ticket page.

Also, always check "Sherpa" travel site to see travel requirements.

For example, this is what is says for entry into India.

Most international travelers are not allowed to enter India. There are limited flights available from the UK, Germany, France, Japan, USA, Oman, UAE, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bahrain, Russia, Qatar, Kuwait, Kenya, Maldives, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Travelers wishing to enter must have the appropriate Indian visa. Tourist visa holders are not allowed to enter at the moment.

Entry restrictions do not apply to:

-Indian citizens; -Indian Visa holders (except eVisa, tourist visa, and medical visa holders); -OCI cardholders; -Foreign businessmen; -Foreign health care professionals; -Foreign engineering, managerial, design, or other specialists traveling on behalf of foreign businesses located in India; -Foreign technical specialists and engineers traveling for installation or repair and maintenance of foreign-origin machinery and equipment -Journalists (J-1) and their dependents who are holding J-1X visa -Nationals of Nepal and Bhutan are permitted to come to India from any country For more details about exemptions please see our source document.

I plan to transit via UK so here's the information I found on the BA site :

Hi,

I'm planning to submit PP surrender and OCI application for a family of three (2 adults + 1 minor) at BLS, Brampton.

Please advise if one person can submit for all three applicants though walk-in.

Any ideas or suggestions is greatly appreciated!

Received the cancelled passport with surrender certificate.

Waiting for an update to the OCI application for my child. Received acknowledgement on 14 sep on oci services but no updates thereafter.
We are planning to travel in the fourth week of October, is it possible that i can apply for a visitor Visa for my child? If so, what are the timelines for visitor visa?
