I've submitted my Surrender +OCI application at BLS Brampton. Walk-in.

Reached BLS at 6:30 AM, was the first in line. By 7:30 AM, there were around 10 people waiting. By 8:00 AM, there were like 15 people waiting.

I was called in around 8:10 AM which is when they started. The agent checked my application forms and she returned so many pages back (she returned both OCI and Surrender checklists, copy of COPR etc) and mentioned it was not necessary to submit those documents.

Everything was done in 10 minutes and I walked out around 8:20 AM. Pretty smooth experience.

I had some confusion about where to paste the photo on the OCI application form and I went ahead and pasted it over the digital photo on the OCI application and it was accepted without issues.

Special thanks to @sg02 @sydcarton @cnonline @amyn27 for their posts and updates and for demystifying the process.

Congrats Raj. What were the payments you made (bank drafts + on site payments?)

Edit, Just saw sg02s post, guess its just a draft for OCI and everything else (Surrender+counsular fees can be paid in person with debit card?)

Only one draft payment - OCI for CAD 345. The rest of the payments were made with debit card.

Edmonton Friends, where you took the photo for Passport surrender & OCI application ? Thanks!

If you have a good camera that can take portrait photo, take the picture against off white background and use the webpage: https://www.idphoto4you.com/
I did the same.

Could you please share if you have to upload the Drivers license and landing document or just take the photo copy

Does anyone know if BLS Toronto (at Lawrence Avenue E) is accepting OCI applications via walkin as there are no appointments available.
Yes they do have walk-in for OCI. But you should there atleast by 7 AM. Otherwise it’s will be more waiting time.

I did not upload the photocopy of driver's license. For "Indian Visa" section, you'll have to upload your COPR (that's what I did). However, you'll have to submit a photocopy of both COPR and Driver's license (for address proof) when submitting the application to BLS.

Both the OCI and Surrender applications that I submitted yesterday show "Processing at Consulate General" on the BLS website. I don't see the status yet on ociservices website for OCI application.

I'll post updates as they come in.

Good luck to all!

Hi Everyone, I have a quick question regarding the OCI process. I have an appointment at BLS Toronto next week.
From what I understood after reading online is that we have to submit the application online (Both part A and B) along with photograph and signature and then take the application forum and all the other forums to the appointment.
My question is regarding the photograph. Do we need to submit digital photo online and also take printed photos with us at the appointment?

Thanks.

Yes. You have to submit your photo online on the OCI registration site and you should take a photo with you when you are applying for OCI at BLS. If you are submitting Surrender + OCI together, you'll need 2 physical photos of the same dimensions.

Hi Everyone,

Do we need to have a digital photo on the Surrender application form as well, or just the OCI application form ? Can someone advice please.
