Yes - I faced the same. Not sure why they have done this.
I think the ctrl v works on that section.
Just copy the name in Hindi from google translator and paste it on all the sections. I did the same and worked for me.
I raised a service request to fix that issue - hopefully they fix the issue

copy paste didnt work.
I figured a workaround..

click the "keyboard" icon, it will bring up the regional language keyboard. then click on the box to bring the cursor there. now use keyboard to make any 1 character entry.
This allows you to submit.

obviously the info is meaningless. hope they dont mind it, unlike the BLS folks

Hi - I am trying to apply for new OCI (first time), i went thro the document checklist, one thing i am not sure is,

1. Do i need to mail my foreign passport once OCI is approved or do they just send OCI card/sticker/booklet in mail back to us? No need to check the mission to mail foreign passport right?
2. I don't see anywhere they ask to mail/submit original passport in the document checklist or in the entire process, so with the OCI card, can i travel to india?
3. Am i missing/interpreting wrongly anything here?

Hi everyone, I had submitted Form 7 online for cancellation of my voter card a couple of weeks ago. Recently the status changed to "Hearing Scheduled". Did anyone face a similar issue and got it resolved?
If they want to meet in person, I am not sure how that will work because I am in Canada currently. Any insights regarding this would be helpful.

BLS status remains same " Passport ready for dispatch after OCI stamping

i received my OCI Card on 14 Mar 2025

Any idea why the OCI website showing documents received on 21 March when i already received OCI Card on 14 March?

I am trying to submit form 7 to delete myself from the voter list.

Facing this crazy issue in this section of the form.
Looking through the html code for it, looks like the second row of each item is supposed to be the address in the regional language?
But even using the keyboard option in the filed, unable to enter anything.

Has anyone faced this?

There will be a declaration form for the OCI applicant. In that form, select the checkbox stating, "I hereby declare that I have never obtained an Indian Voter ID or Ration Card based on my previous Indian citizenship."

1) Surrender / Renunciation Certificate
2) Indian Passport – both first and last pages; endorsement-if any
3) Foreign Citizenship certificate
4) Proof of Address
5) Self-Declaration for surrender of Indian Voter ID and Ration Card
Has anyone else faced this issue?

They send the OCI card in mail once it's approved. You don't need to mail your passport. The OCI itself is a separate document and you just need to show it along with your foreign passport anytime you travel to India.

I applied for OCI early last year but unable to remember exactly how I uploaded the documents. From what I remember, the websote doesn't have different links for each type of document. I had to combine documents and upload them together. There is a drop down selection to be made and then you upload the relevant document. Select the most relevant drop down selection. If a certain option is not available, just select other and name the document you upload accordingly and that should be fine. If possible, share a snap of that screen along with the options that appear and I maybe able to tell.

I applied for my Minor's OCI last week in Toronto (Walk In) and today I received a text from BLS saying "Your application is under decisioning at the Consulate". Is it a typical message? Has anyone received it?

Typically, I have seen a message saying Your application is under processing (not decisioning). Please advise.

Not sure where did you observe this message - Your application is under processing (not decisioning). I had same text from BLS for my minor's OCI's - Your application is under decisioning at the Consulate.

So no advise should be all good for you.

I see columns for the following:
- CURRENT PASSPORT (which I have a copy of)
-EMPLOYMENT LETTER (which I also have)
-INDIAN ORIGIN PROOF (asks for previous Indian passport in the drop-down)
-INDIAN VISA (N/A)
-JOINT DECLARATION OF SUBSISTING OF MARRIAGE (N/A)
-MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE (N/A ? I have a spouse who is a PR)
-PIO CARD (N/A)
-RELATIONSHIP CERTIFICATE (N/A)
-SPOUSE OCI CARD (N/A)
-SPOUSE PASSPORT (N/A ? I have a spouse who is a PR)

A majority of these do not apply to me.
However, as stated previously, I could not find any relevant sections in which to upload the documents. Sadly, there is also no "other" section in the drop-down.
