Have any one applied for OCI in India. For OCI application in Canada do they take the passport for all 3 months . Please advice. Thank you

For in-person Canada application - Passport they check and return it back
For postal Canada application - Self attested copy of Passport is to be sent, not the original one.

Finally I see this update in bls site. Since it’s weekend , mostly Monday I may receive in hand.

Then you need to contact FRRO once you have OCI in hand.

It says only application submitted in missions/FRROS I think it will not show if application is submitted at bls center?

In Toronto it takes 20-25 days to reflect on this website. Where did you submit your application ?

I submitted in Brampton BLS center walkin. Application submission date is 31st December and BLS site is showing processing at consulate from jan first week.

Oh I see the status now in OCIservices.gov. It is under process. Date of acknowledgement is 30th Jan when can I expect to receive confirmation as per current timeline ? Another 10 days may be ? My travel plans are on hold because of this

Mostly by 4th week of March you should have it in hand.

FYI.

There is no link to schedule pick-up and drop-off the application. I had to call BLS customer care and they scheduled it. Cost is$62 for Brampton.

Hope that helps anyone looking for postal app.

Is the cost one way now $62 or both ways?
