Hi Guys

I went to apply in person at the Toronto Location for OCI on Feb 10th. Had an appt but still took 4 hours lol. But they accepted the application right there and then. They asked me to upload some extra documents (which i did the same day) on the OCI portal which I had submitted in hand as well. So far BLS tracker status says Processing at Consulate general. Now from the above the comments I see that the OCI acknowledgment status updates later. Would I get an email about that acknowledgment, or should i just check the status after a couple of weeks?

Thank you

There is no email communication. Need to check on OCI tracker page.

Hi,

Can you please share the link from the BLS website where you can apply for an Indian Passport surrender and OCI application through postal services ?
I searched but could not find it

Can you please remind and confirm, as per latest trend and approvals and your knowledge, for a new OCI application,

1. What do we enter for "National Identification Number" or leave empty or put NA?
(It seems leave it blank as per old trend. Still leave it blank?)

4. For visible mark, if entered NA on surrender application, so put same NA here on OCI application or make it "Not applicable"?
(it seems to me to enter NA. But confirm please)

2. Do we fill Canadian passport details under "Passport Information" section?
(I think it's Canadian passport details here. Please confirm).

3. Do we fill Indian passport number for field "Previous Passport Number" or leave it empty?

5. For Adult application married, is Spouse's Passport details recommended to fill although all are optional fields?
(As per your old reply in search you said better to enter these if married. Still valid?)

6. For Mobile No. and Telephone No., Do we put 1 or +1 in front of phone no or just 10 digit phone numbers?

Thanks always.

1. Leave it blank as its non mandatory and does not even come on printed form
4. NA
2. Canadian
3. Empty as its your first Canadian passport
5. You need to as its get printed on OCI booklet
6. I used 1<10 digit mobile no>

Hi, need help from the forum.
I filled up the online form almost 5 months ago but couldn't submit the physical application since i didn't have the notarized affidavit for change in place of birth. Now I'm planning to get the affidavit and I'm planning to use the same online form from last time and not filing a new form since online forms filled once last for 180days.

My questions are:
1. Can I use the same photo which is almost 5.5months old ?
2. Would it be a problem wherein the affidavit will be from feb 2024 but the form date is sept 2023 and photo is sept 2023?
3. Do i need to upload the affidavit online or its fine if i submit it offline alone?
4. Also I'm unable to see the application online cuz it says that the status of only those forms that have been successfully submitted can be tracked. So in this case how can I upload affidavit if needed?
5. I also read that in case entirely different places of birth are mentioned in both passports, correction should be made in Canadian/foreign passport. But there's also a point that says affidavit works? so i'm confused if i need to apply for a new passport or affidavit works?

- Yeah if you did not have any plastic surgery on your face you can use the same photo
- Is there a stamp on your photo?
- If you have already "submitted" the form and want to make changes or upload additional documents you cannot do that. In that case you have to type a new form
- Can you elaborate "different places of birth are mentioned in both passports" I hope you are not saying that IND PP mentions Mumbai, CAN PP mentions Delhi as the place of birth. Well if that's the case, then it will be some fun discussions you'd have at Passport Canada eh,

Yeah the place of birth is totally different. In indian passport its lets say Agra while in canadian its Shimla. There's a stamp with date at the back of the photo.
