Costed me 417 CAD for fee, BLS, Purolater, Canada Post, MO charges

I had a Walk-In application, so the cost was less for me.

Mine also acknowledged on sept 1 at Vancouver mission. Toronto mission is way faster than Vancouver.

Looks like you have a ton of patience to deal with the waiting BS of BLS


They made me wait in December cold at Scarborough location for my passport renewal despite having an appointment, I had to force my entry into the office, had to tell them to call the cops if needed.

after that I made a promise never to go there in person. My time and personal sanity is more valuable than 50 dollars I would have saved.


They are still stuck in bureaucratic attitudes of 1980s India, just like most folks of Brampton are stuck in 1980's punjab. Even Indian govt offices are better managed nowadays

I know, as I have gone through the same pain. For submitting my Passport surrender application i have to visit BLS Brampton office three times. Stood i queue for 5 hours on three occasions.
Then for my OCI submission it was less stressfull, but again it took 4 hours. I walked in at 5:00 AM in morning and was still 8th in the queue.
In your case it was winter, so standing outside the office in queue is extremely difficult

So, things are really slow at Ottawa, but at least its moving.

Question regarding OCI Online Application - Do we need to upload surrender certificate online or just the cancelled Indian passport is required.
I have uploaded current canada passport, employment letter and cancelled indian passport (unmarried)
Wondering if that is all or I am missing anything here ?
