Hey Everyone,

Hope you all are doing great!
Got a quick question. I applied for my OCI on Aug 30th in BLS, North York. The BLS status says 'Processing at Consulate General' but the OCI-Status enquiry says 'No records found'. So just wanted to know the average timelines of applying in BLS to Acknowledgment in OCI portal these days. Thanks in advance for everyone taking time to read this and replying!

Hi guys, I got an appointment next week at BLS Toronto. The problem is that I was able to get a single appointment only. Will my wife and I both be able to submit our applications with one appointment? Has anyone had any experience with this recently?

The number of applications should match the appointments. I had an appointment for visa, but I also had to surrender the passport. But they said they can only process only one of the application (either visa/surrender). However if I was a walk-in applicant, I could do both together which made no sense.
It might depend on the staff and your luck as well.

WE GOT FLIGHT TICKETS BOOKED FOR END OF THIS MONTH CALEED BLS TEHY SAID ITS WITH CONSULATE GENERAL OF INDIA THEY DID NOT SEND TO BLS YET TRIED TO CALL CONSULATE GENERAL NO RESPONE FROM THEM. HOW WE CAN CONTACT CONSULATE GENERAL FOR UPDATE.

Your flight is for end of Sept? Hopefully you should get the OCI by next week.

Is there any chance BLS will take the OCI fee in cash, credit or debit in person? or it has to be bank draft?

Consulate fee is only by bank draft.

Depends on the person's mood, lineups, time of the day (if you're in early they might take it, if you are in closer to the end of the day they might decline) etc lol
If it helps, I did submit two OCI applications with one appt.

I am applying for OCI. Required document indicates for employment letter. I am self employed so, what should i mention in self employment letter.

In my case, they returned the employment letter (I have read here as well that they did the same of lot of the other folks too).

Thank you for posting the links. So from what I understand uploading the marriage certificate is not required in my case.

Did anyone has experience not uploading their marriage certificate and their application getting accepted?
Also what other documents did you upload with your online OCI application?

Thanks a lot for super fast reply. Hoping to get a response from BLS soon.

As I predicted, BLS status updated today noon - (Counter Delivery to BLS Centre after OCI stamping)
So next week should be pickup or courier completion status.
@alex the king - Hope you got the update as well.

I applied OCI for my daughter on Aug 16th at BLS brampton walkin application, and OCI acknowledgement received on 29th August 2022, and status is under process

Looking at other people's timeline you should have received AOR by now, my best guess is your application is returned for something missing (this is just a guess). Happened with my son's application too, BLS will contact you (try calling them, I don't think that will help though).

I did apply for entry visa on August 31st via postal. They acknowledged application on September 6th. My friend recently (couple of days before received in hand) got entry visa in less than two weeks. Her application was walk in at Toronto. My travel date is October 5th. I did call bls customer care before I applied and they told me it will take 14 working days to process.

That's good to hear. I'm planning to apply in person for my wife. Hopefully, she gets it before her other international travel.
