Do you mind me asking how long did it take for your Entry Visa and SC?

So i applied for both on 9th June at Brampton office and by 14th June entry visa was ready for collection.( I picked up since family had to travel this week)
15th June they dispatched the cancelled passport at my home address. I choose courier since i did not expect it would be so fast.(My calculation was 2 months that's why I chose courier) Would have saved money on courier for 2 if I knew they would work so fast.
(In my case when I applied for surrender on 7th March, they took exactly 2 months to deliver cancelled passport in my hand)

Great. May be like you said things have improved! since most ppl went for their documentation just before summer. I'll update here as soon as i have an update. And yes, i'll check the BLS site a couple of times everyday.

My friend's OCI Acknowledgement Date is 30th May. His status changed to 'Processed' today.

My Ack date is 31st May. Hopefully, my application will get updated soon too.

The only thing that I can think of is that my previous Indian passport was obtained in the US because the older passport was out of pages. I applied under tatkal and may be (just maybe) the police verification was not done back in 2012. This is just a speculation. I cannot think of any other reason. I hope that your application does not get held up. What is your date of acknowledgement? Did you also apply from Ottawa? Cheers!

Just my observation I have seen the status changes to processed exactly 20 days from the date of acknowledgement.
My case 26th May acknowledged and 16th June Processed.

Is OCI Acknowledgement Date the same date as the one when the application is submitted at BLS or is this another date that comes later in the Indian Visa site?

you will see that date in OCI portal. This is when your application is acknowledged officially in OCI portal and not submission date (Right now its one week from submission)

the acknowledgement date will appear on the OCI tracking website after few days of application submission at BLS.
Application submission date can be seen only on BLS site and not the same as acknowledgement date.

I did same at BLS Brampton applied in person on 10th May Ack on 30th May on OCI Portal. Still under-process. how it works??

If you can afford to go walkin, then do that. You will have to send originals too for verification if sending by posting.
Carry all the originals (Even the ones not on checklist) if you are doing walkin.
Walk-in makes sure your application is complete and in case any corrections are needed you can correct and try same day to submit without any risk.

Depends on what your location is ?

If Toronto/Brampton...then go to Brampton if possible.

I think walkin line starts by 6 or 7 am. You can also try checking the appointment website. But thats a whole day task coz sometimes someone cancels and its booked by someone else very fast. But you got to keep checking frequently during the day.
