My OCI application was returned
This is the text from online status I see

I did not include a draft for 7.40 for BLS. I had sent a draft for 345 CAD. Is a separate draft required?
Parents name I wrote as per the indian passport.
Place of birth I wrote as per the indian passport. The canadian passport wrote just the city name without the muncipality name. How the @#$ can I know they want place of birth as per last indian passport or canadian passport.
I guess I have to pay another 80 bucks for pick up and drop off and do all the forms again.

Yes a separate draft required for BLS fee ($7.40) per applicant or if there is more than one applicant you can combine that into one draft.

Can you help with your timelines of OCI submission and processing?
My OCI has been with CGI in Under process since 20 April.
Travel date is 7 June, I am wondering if I should explore the entry visa option

very keen in knowing what was the ACK date on the OCI website and what dat did the status changed to printed?
That may give me an idea of how long they take to print the OCI.

And thereafter like you, I am also keen in knowing approx number of days to dispatch it to CGI Toronto > BLS > Residence
I applied on March 14th at HCI, Ottawa. I am Montreal Applicant. Status on BLS & OCI website updated on April 9th. Received original on April 12th.
My OCI website status shows printed, and its in Ottawa HCI. I am wondering when will BLS would ship this to me? Like you, I do want to plan a trip back home.

A very noob question. When it says printing or printed, does the OCI get printed in India or it gets printed within Canada in one of the CGI offices of Toronto/ Ottawa etc?
So on April 9th your status on OCI website changed to printed?
I am keen in knowing the dates of when it was acknowledged on OCI website and in how many days it changed from Under process to printed.
Thanks

You are lucky. My application will soon be with BLS Ottawa for a month. No movement on the file so far. :(

I was told by the BLS call Centre folks that unlike other application , OCIs get printed in India and are sent from their to us.
They told me this when I asked them why the higher Courier price this time

Sorry to hear you experience mate. Yes, need two separate DD. One for 345 CAD (Consulate General Of India) and 7.4 CAD (BLS).
Actually to be doubly safe, I just sent two separate application/packages for me and my wife. But yeah, each person has 2 drafts.

Parents name should match the name on Indian Passport.
Place of birth should match the Canadian Passport. Something like "CITY IND".

Even my application was in similar situation for a month. Hang in there, it will move fast once they start processing.

Shit! I did not include the IND part after the name of the city. Did anybody else have an issue with the application being returned for not including IND after the place of birth?

What is the exact name we have to put in Draft for 345 for consulate . I put "consulate general of india - Toronto' but in site it seems its mentioned as "THE consulate general of india - Toronto" . I m missing "THE" will that cause a problem ?

As per BLS OCI Checklist, the one which you have is correct.

The fees to be paid in the form of Money order or Demand draft in favor of “High Commission of India, Ottawa” / “Consulate General of India, Toronto” / Consulate General of India, Vancouver” – as applicable

Postal Applications:
Two separate payments required of OCI application as per the direction of HCI / CGI.

  1. Draft or money order in favor of "The Consulate General of India - Toronto"
(Note: Fees payable under this draft / money is for Consular fees + Consular Surcharge fee only).
  2. In favor of BLS International Services Canada Inc. via

Well its different at different places as pointed by Navid. In some places it has consulate general of india, Toronto (with a comma). Some places have dash.
To be honest, my bank did a draft without the word "The". But I asked them to prepare with word "The" (just to be safe).
But I feel you should be good as well. :)

I have "MUMBAI , MAHARASHTRA , INDIA" in my OCI Application, "MUMBAI IND" in my Canadian Passport and "BOMBAY MAHARASHTRA" in my last Indian passport.
My OCI application was accepted by BLS and is now under process at CGI.
