My story:
My initial in-person appointment was on 21st September in Brampton and it was rewardless. Thought I had filled everything correctly but the counter agent rejected my application stating couple of optional fields were missing
Later on, I was able to get another appointment for 26th September in Toronto. However, that would have been too late for my travel,
So, I went as a walk-in on the night of 22nd September to their Toronto location. Reached there at 2.30 am. Was second in line. Waited all night there. They opened at 8 am. First priority was for those with appointments. Then around 8.45 am or so, they let me in. After after some wait time inside, I was already out of there by around 9.30 am. Things went very smoothly this time and my application was accepted without any problems. And I did get my other reserved appointment canceled right after.
Meanwhile, I had a flight on 03rd November which I rescheduled few days ago due to uncertainty in timelines. And now traveling on 10th November right in time for Diwali festival!
Entire process took about 41 days since submission. So, many thanks to BLS and OCI department as well!

wow ! you went to Edmonton BLS as well right ? I had 3 applications and ack date was 04 Oct. Wonder when mine will show up ! @nitesh001 , maybe you can check yours too between today and tomorrow.
I am sorry what receipt are we talking about here ? Is it the update that we get on the OCI website ?
Congratulation Ruchi, I am glad that your OCI has been processed. Can you please tell as to when did you receive this update , i mean what time of the day . I have an application with an acknowledgment on October 4. I also request you to please keep us posted on when you receive your OCI so that we can have an idea on the time it takes to reach from Vancouver CGI to Edmonton BLS.
Now just waiting for my PP with visa stamp to flyYou will have both OCI and Visa
@RuchiWalia you are the only one from edmonton who got it processed in 27 days ! I hope we see ours come through as well. Can you please let me know if yours was just a single application ?

I never got a receipt from BLS. They just took my application after verifying , i paid the fees and then i was let go. I even asked for a receipt but the lady at the counter said that there is none. Now i am not sure what to do if i have to Walkin for the document pickup whenever the time comes.
