With authorization letter I picked for my spouse.
I don't understand how your friend will replace your partner as they check ID before giving the OCI.

I live in Toronto, Canada.
My wife applied for OCI card through BLS. Now, it has been 5 months but I have not received any communication either from BLS or Indian consulate nor we have received OCI card till now. Online, it shows processing time 6 to 8 weeks only. When I track online at BLS site, sometime it shows no message there while other times it shows name of another person. Please guide what should I do?

What were your timelines on Surrender Of India Citizenship?

I sent my Surrender Of India Citizenship application (via Purolator from Calgary) on 21 June 2024. Online status shows application received date as 26 June 2024.

Usually 2 to 3 weeks.

Should I submit original Canadian passport for OCI application or just the attested copy? Also, I don't see much details provided for submitting OCI application via post.
