Just for context, we all have US visas. Intended purpose of travel is Alaska cruise from Vancouver (so predominantly a US trip). I submitted a group application on the IRCC portal.

Hi Saurabh, My father submitted in VFS Delhi on 25th November. it was sent to embassy on 26th. Since then no update.
I had already booked flights for Monday 9 Dec. my mother's visa is already valid.
Oh ok that is very tight situation...
Hope the passport is received before 9 dec..
I am hopeful next week all waiting from last week of November should get update from IRCC Delhi office
Mine is WP (Closed WP).
18th Nov: Submitted Passport to VFS for stamping.
20th Nov: Reached to IRCC Delhi.
No update after that. Anyone has any idea how much time it will take?

I am wondering the delay with passport stamping is something to do with current processing time, check below link

It shows 114 days for visitor visa outside canada from India...
if that is true we have more days to wait then...

I applied for my parent's visitor visa on October 18th. They completed their biometrics on October 22nd but yesterday (Dec 14) I got a visa refusal for them. I was inviting them because I am pregnant (Due in March 2025). I also attached letter from my doctor. Both of them have full-time jobs but, they are retiring in couple of months so I mentioned me and my husband will take care of all the expenses and showed $10000 for each to cover their 2 month visit expenses. We also provided their net worth certificate prepared by CA in India. This is the refusal message received.
"I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-227/section-179.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors:
• The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application.
• Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable)."
Can someone help in figuring what must have gone wrong? I thought my pregnancy would be a solid reason to get the visa quickly. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

Pregnancy is not a reason to get a visa quickly. In fact, it is the exact opposite because IRCC believes that your parents will overstay and not leave Canada. They said they are coming for two months and only showed $10k each in cash? That is not enough funds. They should have said they are coming for two weeks to meet their grandchild because they have jobs to return too. Few people get two months off.
that makes sense. I'm wondering if I should re-apply for just my mom's visa? Will providing proof of more funds and shortening her visit to only couple of weeks instead of 2 months make a difference? or is there a high chance that the application will get automatically rejected?
Order GCMS/ATIP notes to get more information for bullet one’s reason which that visit is not a temporary stay. She will need to declare refusal and outline how she will not overstay and that she has more funds. A short stay with more funds may be successful. Honestly including a doctor’s note is not always a good idea. Your letter of invitation should say she is coming to meet grandchild then with documentation (job letter with approved leave) that she is staying for a short time and must return home.
Not even an overstay concern. IRCC likely has concerns that they will try to remain visiting Canada for longer than 2 months was already may have too long given finances. You have literally declared they will be retiring soon so have lost a big tie to their home country and a grandchild is an extra tie to Canada. Both parents traveling together likely means they have zero dependents in their home country either. If your mother would travel on her own without your father I would suggest she apply on her own and indicates a shorter visit like a 3-4 weeks. If your mother returns home even after 2 months she has established a pattern of return to her home country which will likely make it easier for both parents to visit in the future.
I didn't declare they are retiring soon in the application. But, I understand what you're trying to say. Will probably apply for my mom alone first. Do you think super visa for both might be a good option too?
