Hi YvonneAnyone else with NO movement this year? Nothing new on my end since early April when they requested Police Record for my 18 year old step daughter (South Africa and will come next year when finished high school).
Hi Yvonne
I received my GCSM notes yesterday. I am still figuring out to interpret it, but it pretty much states that since Dec. 21, 2019 our app has not been touched.
The only other date that is in it is May 13, when I think someone just checked my police reports were there.
We have not heard ANYTHING since AOR 7 months ago.
I ordered them to confirm or deny that our file was in Montreal's Innovation Hub. We still don't know, because where it says "originated" it says CPC Mississauga, but often we see "Montreal Immigration" along the notes.
Anyways, you got me to keep you company! We are going to change/extend my son's status to worker since he can't study (we cannot afford international fees).
1. I don't believe you can't travel outside Canada, as long as you have a valid visa.Hi everyone! I plan to move to Canada in September and apply for the inland spousal sponsorship. I have some queations, if anyone can help me, thanks a lot!
1) Is it true that if I apply inland I can´t travel anywhere outside Canada during the process? I read this things a while ago, but an immigration lawyer told me that´s not correct, she said it´s better just to wait for the OWP (open work permit) to be aproved.
2)When getting my OWP, my 5 years old daughter can go to the publis school?
3) Staying and applying in Canada, I should renew my tourist visa until my PR is ready, is that correct? How many months before expiring the tourist visa I should begin the application to renew a new one?
Did you get AIP? It sounds like they need a relationship interview before making a decision otherwise..Help needed.
Just received a letter from Cic indicating my file have been transfered to etobicoke office for further assessment and they will contact me for interview and to make decison. Does say was approved or something. And on PA side it says " in process". And sponsor is " decision made"
What can i assume?
I'm the PA, from Asia too so I it's probably why it's taking some timeAre you a sponsor or PA? What is your PA background / Country of origin? I've noticed a few of my classmates from South Asia got their application stuck at background check in Express entry application. It's probably CBSA checks that usually causes the application to take longer.
I hope everything goes good and you are through fast.
File moving to a local office before AIP means they are doubting the relationshipHelp needed.

In a relationship interview they interview the sponsor and applicant separately to validate the genuity of the relationshipNo i didnt get AIP.
And what is relationships interview.
The only problem i know i have was a criminal record ( conditional discharge)
which i assume shouldnt be the proble. Will just wait and see.
I don't believe anything is actually completely "wiped" from records, it is only wiped on the certificates they give but they keep everything they have on any person stored under their records for a very long timeHey guys!
PA got eligibility passed letter today. We now have eligibility passed on both sides.
I believe this is AIP, however underneath it says this:
Information on record indicates that a criminal convictions exists. Please provide a copy of police reports, court judgments and all supporting documents related to any criminal charges or convictions...
My common law partner had a cyberstalking charge show up on his FBI record from 2008. It was supposed to be wiped from his record because it was set up but it still showed up on his record. He had a lawyer and they told him to not talk to that woman and he left it at that. Should we be worried?
1. @sa1978 can travel outside Canada for a short period of time (week or two) they say it's risky but many people have done with no problem at all but it's mostly people from visa exempt countries, if you @sa1978 are not from a visa exempt country and you are required to have a visa to enter Canada if you want to travel during the process outside of Canada and come back you should have a valid visa with open work permit1. I don't believe you can't travel outside Canada, as long as you have a valid visa.
2. Yes, you can immediately register your daughter to public school after you have OWP.
3. You can renew it or you can wait until you get OWP, then they CIC will renew your tourist visa for at least 2 years. Anyways in the meantime you'll get PR.
