Got this reply from Ralph today:

Dear Upsana - I spoke to IRCC regarding your application received Nov 28, 2018. It is at the Case Processing Centre in Ottawa.

Standard processing time is 6 months. This means 80% of routine applications are completed within that time frame, while 20% take longer.

Eligibility requires review.

Criminality passed.

Security checks have not been initiated. They cannot be expedited and timelines are not available.

Medicals are valid until Jan 10, 2020.

What does RR in Eligibility mean? The agent told me same status last night but said nothing to worry!

I will order for notes tonight.
Which is better getgcms or gcmsbuddy?
Ordered once from ATIP back on 29th April but did not receive it..

Please help. Thanks :)

If the call centre agent did not tell you about what eligibility document is RR then only GCMS notes can tell you

Too sad, so many pending application s and the y are approving January. Many applicants are skilled and have clear documents, still they are not touching our files

January applicants are approaching the end of their 6 month timeline. So obviously, they will be their priority now to keep up with the '80%' trend.

The pending cases now have no set timeline, so they will be processed based on the convenience of the officer.

If you consider this scenario than they will always keep this 80% rate with subsequent months and won't be able to touch previous files ever.

My constituency MP is different person
He's an MP for another constituency. That's correct, however, as part of a ruling party (Liberal party) he's also responsible for Immigration related issues in the parliament (or Liberal party, I am not sure). This is why he answers questions about it.

Local MPs are useless in these matters.

Well, yes they will always try to keep up with the 80% rate but the pending cases will be touched at some point. They're just not a priority anymore compared to new cases.

I think the pending cases will be lying around until some officer decides to pick it up. We will just never know when it will be picked up since there is no set timeline. Previously, we had a 6 month expectation but once that 6 months pas it's a limbo waiting game.
