I/m waiting for SA but because i'm in Quebec i dunno if the way of receiving SA is the same or will i first need to get the MICC form and then after that i will get SA or do i get SA and then ill get the MICC forms and complete it can someone help? Thanks!

I am from Quebec as well and waiting for my SA.
As far as I know is we should receive SA first and then a request to have CSQ from our visa offices.

Thanks so much! I can't believe it takes so long. When they approve, they should add the time that we had to wait. Lol
I asked for a year, but I will probably get PR before that. Hopefully! Ha!!

Yeah, you will probably get your SA soon. That is exciting, then you can relax a bit.

Best Wishes!!

I asked for 8 months or something. As I am planning to go to my home country this summer, but let's see what they will actually give me or not. I was quite afraid to ask for 1 year as I extended my visa before applying for PR :)

Weary - have you tried looking up your application status via Receipt # (IMM 5401)?

I do not have my AOR yet and my package was received on Nov 17. The CIC website does not find my application by receipt number yet.

And, for science, I'm curious if anyone who has already received their UIC and can access ECAS will be able to look up their application status by receipt# instead of UIC.

I am trying the model of patiently awaiting word and checking this forum daily so I can live vicariously through you folks who've moved ahead. "I can be patient. I can be patient." If I say it enough it will be true, right?

When I applied for my extension the first time to establish common-law I asked for 8 months because I was leaving for California. I knew when I got back I would be applying for PR. I have read that asking for a year is not uncommon. I think as long as all the documentation is there and they can verify that financially you are able to stay, they are good about it. Hopefully you hear something soon.

Yes, if you are in the system it will work with the receipt number. If you try and it doesn't work then you are not in the system and need to wait until you receive your AOR. There were some members who never received the AOR and eventually were able to get info with the receipt number, but that means that they were in the system and for whatever reason didn't received AOR. So, you can keep trying, it can't hurt.
You will probably receive your AOR soon, it looks like you are approaching the time frame.

Best Wishes!!

Yes, the receipt# works using my info and my sponsor's info. I have tried all the combinations.. haha
I usually just use the UCI# to check though.

Eee! Thanks for the tests.

It suggests that my time here is more valuable than trying to get a number to work on the CIC website. The AOR will come.
