1. App recieved
2. We started processing ur file jan 24

I dont have line for medical yet-waiting for vo to request(i didnt provide upfront)

Does this mean i passed the eligiblity part? I am confused

so it's been 70 days now since they received my application and still no SA (assessment of sponsor is 64 days). I just called CIC and was told that everything seems to be fine but there is no update on my application. The agent was kind enough to send a reminder to Mississauga, hopefully i'll hear from them soon. I tried calling them a few times last week to no avail, today wait time was 15 mns.

The trick is to call early, CIC call center is opened from 7:00 am EST to serve the Atlantic provinces, that doesn't mean they will hang up on you if you are from other provinces.

It seems now after SA the real waiting game begins, at least before that I was looking forward to wait for something (because I knew plus minus how long to wait), but now, as we don't know how long we really will wait after SA it drives me crazy. I just want a time frame, but as they made it 17 months now, it's totally lottery.

Me too. While its nice to be on the right track now its just endless waiting. I hate seeing even september people who haven't got a DM yet, meaning we probably have months of waiting.

I don't think anyone really knows what it actually means. With ECAS everything is a mystery, so even if I understand that it is nice to see this third line, I, personally, don't think not seeing it is something major. I read that some people already received they PR and ECAS still shows "In process". This system is quite unreliable in my personal opinion and I think it is sad, because at the age of technology it is not that hard to update it for a client, but I don't think they care enough.

Hi stanstan, I am processed through HK VO, since our progress and timeline is the same, we can probably get feed back from one another. Not sure if the destination city for landing would matter, I am from Toronto anyway.

Hi biag_ni_lam-ang, it is a line that indicate the date they start processing your PR, in addition to the date that they receive your PR application and medical results receive. According to the old process, the 3rd line is an indication of eligibility had passed, whether it still hold truth for the new process still remain a mystery. Unfortunately the member Eagle333 who created the thread below retired himself from the forum. He/she is a SME on the GCMS notes.

you can read the Old in Process Vs New In Process.... and as far as what i read...

The NEW IN PROCESS has replaced the old status called APPLICATION RECEIEVED if it says:

IN PROCESS: We have received JON DOE's Permanent Residence Application on 01.01.2000
Medical Results have been received

This way you are not off of the interview's hook yet, they just update your Ecas with those 2 lines they will only show the date they started processing your file when Eligibility passes and background checks have then begun. You will mostly likely see the third line after months and months when your file has matured for PPR and ready for a decision. Hopefully this helped

I am pretty sure even without the 3rd line, things are already in motion once it is in the hands of the VO. I guess you can always order your GCMS notes http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp if you are worried.

True; its the unknown that bothers the most. There is a definite need of more visibility on the spousal sponshorship.
