kristinaa said:Hey forum! just an update. i got a DM from Manila CIC today. Prior to this, i was asked to submit passport, Appendix A and Marriage Certificate. i submmited a Cenomar (Certificate of No Marriage) instead.
I'm surprised I didn't get an interview or any request for supporting documents. Is there a chance my application could get refused at this point??
FYI, I had a hunch that my case would be difficult given these red flags: huge age gap, previous marriage, expired work permit, overstaying in Canada, TRV refusal and being put in jail (by my own mother in law at that). Maybe including the official documentation of my cases (that showed up on my RCMP police certificate) and the transcript of my whoooole trial helped. I highlighted the parts that implied contradictory and inconsistent statements and indicated on a separete sheet of paper where to look for them.
I also included a copy of my and my husband's call logs starting from the day we met until present, aside from the usual message logs. I requested it from our mobile carrier before I left Canada. It showed on there that my mother in law called me a lot even when I was only about 2 weeks along in dating her son. She's very involved in her kids' personal lives to the point that it's excessive in nature but I guess that's what's make her such an interesting character. Hehe. Anyways...
I really hope nothing bad happens now. Best wishes to all!
Hi Authornpunite said:Hi everyone,
I'd appreciate if anyone would help me to resolve my case at the moment.. SO i am in Australia in a student visa and my partner is canadian.. our visa processing office is in Sydney (or should i say was in Sydney). We got married last year in June 2014... We had a legal marriage but did not have any ceremonies conducted as his parents were back in Canada and mine back home and it was just my friends who attended the legal wedding. We registered our marriage because we could't wait long to be together. However, we had already planned our ceremonies to be conducted culturally this year in Dec back at home. SO wat happened is, i got my refusal letter on 14th of May last month. The reason for refusal was that they assumed our legal marriage was conducted primarily for the purpose to gain the status and also mentioned that since no ceremonies were conducted the paper marriage could be easily dissolved.. WE don't know what to do.. Should we appeal or reapply after we have our ceremonies. Please HELP!!!!!

Same thing happened to me. I live in Bangladesh. We got married in 21-04-2012. She came to Bangladesh from canada. We saw each other and spent time then we decided to get married. Her family lives in canada and most of them in uk. She has no one in Bangladesh. We decided to do ceremony or reception later because my wife wanted her brothers, sisters and all her family members to attend in the reception. We just got a legal wedding. Few of my family members attended in this wedding. We applied in january 2013 but they didn't accepted our application. Problem is CIC didn't send refused letter or anything. My wife went to a lawyer. The lawyer said to apply again. So we had to apply again. We did our reception ceremony in 14-08-2014. It was really so big party. All of her family came to celebrate the reception. It's my little story
Yes reapplied again. I had to make police report and medical again. CIC received my application in 25-nov-2014. I got AOR2 from Singapore VO. Online status is application received and medical results have been received. Just waiting and waitingnpunite said:Hi Skystar,
