I think Google chat also still provides free call to US/Canada or its really cheap.
Also try VOIP providers usually the calls are 1c, I use http://www.localphone.com/

I had the same luck as chezvelo.... got all the way to the end, and then couldn't get transferred! Oh well, we do need to be patient I supose, but man oh man is it hard when you see the process moving around you, but nothing happening with your application.

I don't know why so much wait between AOR and S/A

I thought AOR kind of meant they started working on your app..

I just got through to CIC, Jennylee. I am a Nov. 5th applicant and got my AOR on January 18th 2015. The nice lady at CIC checked on our file and said that, based on our date, indeed we should be getting SA some time soon because they are already working on appliations considered received and complete from November 3rd 2014. She told me she was going to send a little reminder message to Mississauga processing Centre to check on my file and see if any other documents are missing (gulp!) or whatever.
So, once again, we need to be patient. I think we should get it in the next few days. Fingers crossed!

I had missing documents and they say my app is recieved as of nov 27th. but I got AOR.

and you chezvelo you ahd a smiliar case and got AOR a few days before me but your app is recieved 22 days before mine.

We originally appplied Sept. 9th, but we also had one document missing, so eventually they considered our application "complete" and received November 5th.
I don't think there is a point in trying to figure out how they do things. I guess every application is different and different officers work different ways. Sometimes I wish I had not discovered this Forum because all this information about dates and applicants and who is getting what and when is driving me insane! LOL. Before this Forum I was just going about with my days as usual and checking my email once in a while and sort of "patiently" waiting. Now I am always coming here to see if any applicants got their AOR or their SA or passport request or whatever. It is too much! LOL
I need to tell myself there is no point in trying to "guess" CIC next move. We just need to be patient and try to go on with our lives as usual.

I got an e-mail from CIC today!! It says "This confirms that your application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2014/11/14".....
Is this the AOR??? I'm so happy!! ;D

yippeee! Thanks guys! I'll add my info on the spreadsheet. I was having a gut feeling last night that I'll receive my AOR today, and I sure did! ;D

Yes this is one of the AOR. We got this then another AOR with the UCI application number after a week then SA after that.
