I just checked the status for my wife and the final decision has been made !! I think it is a perfect gift for the chinese new year !!

so DuberBlue, you can update our status in the excel file. AR2 was received on Jan 13. Then the passport was asked in Jan 15 and the decision made on Feb. 3.

Hmmm ok so i checked my application today and decision has been made! I feel either this is very very good or very very bad! Can anyone shed any light on this? It says they will contact me soon - does anybody know how long this takes?

Naveedpcs, I wish you all the best. I do not know how fast is the processing time for Pakistan. For China, it is one of the fastest, this is why our application went smoothly. Anyway, we still need to have the definitive answer (still waiting for the mail).

So, this is it for us.
My wife received her visa and she will be able to come in Canada.
We were very lucky since our application took less than three months (we sent it in November 4 and the visa was emitted in January 27).
Again, I wish all of you good luck in your applications.

Actually, today we got some really good news! My wife got an email from the embassy in Beijing, and it was her AOR2. 20 minutes later she received another email from the embassy. It was her passport request. I guess they just looked at our 700 page application and just said, "Screw it. Just give her PR..."

So we will send her passport to China tomorrow! Hopefully it comes back soon.

Not sure why ECAS just changed to "In progress" today but that's what is says.
