Hello All,

I have been a silent reader and have been following the forum few weeks after I submitted my application. I wish I knew about this forum before then I would have been a little less stressed. Below is my timeline.

Category........: CEC
Visa Office......: Ottawa
NOC Code......: 0125, 0911
Job Offer........: Yes
App. Filed.......: Nov 8th, 2013 (Reached Ottawa)
Doc's Request.: T4 for 2013 and NOA for the year 2013
AOR Received.: Dec 11, 2013
Med's Request: May 16, 2014
Med's Done....: May 26th, 2014 (Completed in Edmonton, AB)
ECAS Updated : May 30th, 2014 (Medical Received)
Upfront RPRF : May 31st, 2014 (I was getting really anxious so I did it)
RRPF Request: June 2nd, 2014
Passport Request: June 9th, 2014 (Sent to Ottawa on June 10th)
Passport Back: June 24, 2014
Landed: June 25, 2014 (Carway, AB)

Canada post almost lost my passport. I was suppose to receive it on June 20th since Ottawa dispatched it on June 18. There were some internal problems with their own barcode and it got lost however they recovered it in 4-5 days since it was trackable.

I had valid US visa and wanted to check out Montana since I was there. When I reached the U.S.A border the officer suggested that I flagpole and come back when I am done what I came here to do. She gave a admin refusal slip. She was really nice and she mentioned that it might take a while and she was right. After I completed my landing I went back to U.S.A and grabbed a few beers and chilled by the mountain along with my friend. ;D

Carway border is very small and I felt they dont want to land a lot of people. I was there for almost 3 hours. Finally got it done. Everyone there was really nice. However Immigration is the last thing that like to process according to a officer.(I assumed because of the paper work). They took my work permit and verified the address and congratulated me and then I went to U.S.

Overall the whole application process was a bit stressful however shorter than I initially expected. Now lets hope I get the PR card on time since I travel a lot and I prefer not to apply any travel documents at the moment. Need a break from applications.
Feel free to ask me any questions you might have. I will answer it if I can. Special thanks to samir, iamtoby, jes, gladaki, goku and may others who are helping others.

Toby's website is awesome!! Please check it out. It has answers to most basic questions.

And those people who are new to this forum and whether just applied or about to apply under CEC. My suggestion is unless your situation is complicated, you dont need to spend money on lawyers. They cannot make the process faster. People on this forum have most up to date knowledge and I personally think their answer might be more accurate than any consultant and lawyers.

Those who are waiting good luck on the rest of the process and I hope you will get to the end of the journey very soon!!

so u did ure landing and went back to usa, but are even allowed to do that? cuz i thought onces if we do the landing we cannot go out of canada if we dont hav the PR card?

You can always use your COPR to travel via road and leave the country.

Congratulations to everyone who received their PPR's yesterday. Hope the MR's will start coming too for those waiting. Spreadsheet updated.

Hi I have just received my Passport Request! 11:26PM!!! Could not be happier! Good luck to everyone!

Does it mean that is the end? Or can the application still be refused?

PR can still be refused, but chances are pretty slim.

Just got the Passport Request & Decision Made (before 1 hour it was In Progress).. Big Relief..

Seniors Need suggestion on the below..

Currently I'm in Melbourne, Shall I update/change the VO or Send it to my Canada friends get it done. Pls advice...

Cheers and All the best to others..

If you are comfortable sending your passport all the way to Canada, go for it. Your friend will have to send it back as well. I will recommend you change it to Melbourne, whats a few extra days?

Hey Sam, once I receive my PP, I will be going to Rainbow Bridge as well. Did you have a US visa to do your landing or did you get the admin refusal?

Congrats Sam, can you explain your process when you approached the US Immigration officer. What did you tell him and what happened next. It will be helpful for the rest of us who do not have a US and plan to land at rainbow bridge.
