Or you can wait and apply closure to your work permit expiry.

You can apply online a month before your current WP expires and you will be fine. However, we cannot say what the processing time for BOWP will be by the time you are ready to apply. So you might wanna keep track of processing time and perhaps apply 6 weeks before online. Personally, I'm not a fan of doing paper based applications. All the best :)

You should apply soon. You never know how much time these things take...if your PR application is in process, then i wont be worried about a workpermit more than a year....looking at April thread it looks appplication process is fast now..and You can expect PPR in 9-10 months

Thanks guys for your opinion. I might as well get it done instead of fretting over details. ;)

gladaki, in your signature, I see a link to the FAQ for CEC. I found a post wherein Toby explains how to contact CIC for additional documents. I need to submit my wife's PCC to the CIO. There is a slight confusion here. Toby's post says email at OttPilot-Immigration@cic.gc.ca or send documents to Case Processing Pilot – Ottawa. But the post at CIC (www(dot)cic(dot)gc(dot)ca/english/immigrate/cec/apply-after(dot)asp says send email to CIO-Sydney-Search-Enquiry@cic.gc.ca or CIO Sydney, NS. My application processing hasn't started yet. Any idea?

If the November '13 spreadsheet is protected why isn't it being updated? I posted my dates a few days ago and it's still not been updated.

Hi All,

I have applied CEC application on Nov 25th 2013 and received AOR on 10th Jan 2014. Now due to some reasons , i may have to go to India and stay for there another 8-10 months.

In this situation, i want to understand what will happen to my CEC application ? Do i need to request to transfer my file to canadian consulate in india? If so , this file transfer process will delay application processing time?

Please advise what kind of impact /delay i can expect in the above situation?

Looking for urgent advise from experts..

No they will send u medical after 8 month..which you can either give in india or in canada.no need to ask for any thing

This is the flowchart of becoming a permanent resident:
Apply > AOR received > Medical Request > Passport Request > Confirmation of Permanent residency > Landing & becoming a PR.

As you can see you have completed the 2nd phase. Now sit back wait for MR, which takes a long time to come.

Thank you Gladaki & iamroth for your responses.Much appreciated.

Received AOR on 10th January, status on ECAS says application received.
Could anyone tell me if that means the application is received at the CPP-O office ?

Your file will be forwarded to CPP-O. In your AOR email it should mention how to contact CPP-O. So it is safe to assume that your file is with CPP-O. Congrats on your AOR.

June sounds good. Just keep track of the previous months to see how CEC apps are progressing. I would say when applicants from end of October are being processed that would be a good time for you to apply for GCMS.
