how much time will CIC give to applicant for submitting PCC once asked for the same ?
As different countries take different time for processing and if by the time CIC ask to submit and PCC is not done then what will happen?
will CIC give enough time ?

Application Received @ CIO - 21 November 2013
Credit Card Charge - 11 January 2014
PER Received - Still Waiting

I sail in the same boat as you... I am supposed to submit a PCC from Singapore which can be initiated only when CIC issues an official letter. Further more, SG takes some time to issue it with their lengthy procedures, finger prints etc... But I guess, we can always, do follow-up's with those countries and can publish it as a proof to CIC that we are still awaiting it... It shouldn't be an issue as its not in our hands...

Can we submit PCC even if our Application's status shows "Application Received" on ECAS ???
Coz I believe that they start asking for PCC once the application status says "In Progress" and after they confirm few initial stages i.e. like after 4-5 months we received AOR.
Coz I saw many other post that they usually demands PCC after 4-5 months from AOR date. which means after they verified Work Exp & other important criterias.

Need some expert to through some light on this...

Yes. You can submit the PCC. When you send the PCC, ensure you have a cover letter with the File Number and other details mentioned. I just sent mine yesterday, though my status shows as Application Received in ECAS

Hi guys,

I have already received my AOR in December.

My PGWP is about to expire in the month of May. My wife has a OWP tied to my PGWP. I was wondering if I should apply for BOWP online and get it within 18 days (as per CIC timeline) or do it via post (56 days). I am worried that normally the day CIC issues the BOWP, the 1 year time starts from that day. If I apply online, I am effectively gonna lose few months from my PGWP.

What do you guys recommend? Get it done ASAP or apply via paper? I have heard of peers who have submitted offline applications for them and their wives together and they were approved, albeit in 56 days. Any help is appreciated.

Or you can wait and apply closure to your work permit expiry.

You can apply online a month before your current WP expires and you will be fine. However, we cannot say what the processing time for BOWP will be by the time you are ready to apply. So you might wanna keep track of processing time and perhaps apply 6 weeks before online. Personally, I'm not a fan of doing paper based applications. All the best :)

You should apply soon. You never know how much time these things take...if your PR application is in process, then i wont be worried about a workpermit more than a year....looking at April thread it looks appplication process is fast now..and You can expect PPR in 9-10 months
