All you people from Ontario talking about cold winters, ha ha ha. Come to Fort Mac or Alberta for a winter and you won't be complaining about the cold in the East for much longer.

Hey bscinto92,

I'm in Hamilton now, and I gotta say... it's not great! I do however think, company makes it better. This winter has been really mild, we haven't seen anything south of 20. They don't make the winters like they used to everyone says.

I don't particularly like the cold either so I can't say I mind!

elmo11 ^^

what a small world. have you lived in hamilton your whole life or are you the one being sponsored? i just love how convenient hamilton is. you can get anywhere in the city by bus or just by walking, but apparently lots of cities in ontario are like that, i just happen to like hamilton the most because it's become a home to me. my husband and i used to walk EVERY where together, especially when it was nice outside. i love the way the city is layed out but the people are little too much for me sometimes lol. my husband said the same thing about the winters, said theyre nothing like they used to be. i guess i lucked out lol, i spent last winter there and t snowed only a couple times and not very much at that. and this winter we actually got twice the amount of snow here in connecticut, i beleive hamilton only got just over a foot of snow during that blizzard and we got over 3 feet. and as far as not knowing how cold it is in other parts of canada, i'm glad i dont have to find out.... however i know from pictures and other friends/relatives living in alberta that it definitely is beautiful out there, and i'd love to visit it sometime.... but probably in the spring or summer ; )

I hear ya, Hong Kong's weather is the same.

WOW!
Am I the only one who hasn't received anything yet?
To this day, all I've gotten is "Application Received"!
I've sent e-mail and called, but nothing yet!
I'm going insane!
At least my hubby is here. We are trying to find a way for me to go back to Canada with him. The problem is that before applying for Sponsorship, I applied for Student Visa, which was denied... Would it be any problem for us?

Hi dayver1331,

Here is a link to the operational manuals that cic employees are supposed to follow when they work on the applications. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/index.asp
I posted it on this form sometime back but I can't take credit for it as I found it on this site and would give credit to the original poster.

Hello @william coates - thanks for the link to the manual !
A pretty exhaustive manual, I must say - wasn't expecting the Public sector to work so methodically ;)

Hello, joining the November applicants, I sent our sponsorship application on November 11, got sponsorship approval on Feb 18 and my husbands application was sent to Bogota visa Office. Feb 29 my husband received an AOR from the visa office.
So far so good, hoping for the pace to keep up as the processing times in Colombia are 17 months¡

Oh! I really hope so!
Btw, what's MP?

And for the record, someone said something about the amount of hours here: 10hrs n 42mins. I'm sure it is nothing compared to some of you... =]
Well, much love to all!

That's Member of Parliament. We approached my husband's local Member of Parliament as they can often get answers from CIC that we normal folks can't. nzandcanada posted a link earlier for finding your MP - even though your husband is not currently in Canada maybe he could approach the MP of where he lived last for help? It's worth asking!

Hey Braziliangirl,

I don't want to freak you out but have you seen this thread:

I admit, I am a little worried.... :o

Apparently another November applicant has been told their file has been lost and they need to resubmit the whole lot again.

November 30, 2012: application received in Mississauga.
Spousal sponsorship, living outside of Canada.

We have not heard anything about our application! please help!
