Hello Fellow November-ites,

I just joined, but I'm one of the November applicants whose application appears to have been lost and not found until late January. Not happy to see other people had the same experience, but glad we're not alone, either.
Can someone please add me to the spreadsheet?
Our application was received on November 20, 2012.
No AOR.
Spousal approval received on Feb 1st, apparently, though we did not receive email notification.
Notification letter for spousal approval received on February 14th.
Thanks, and best of luck to everyone on quick processing!

Hi! And welcome :)
I'm sorry to hear it took long for you to get your sponsor approval, but great that you have it now! I'm also glad you joined our November group, feel free to ask questions or just talk about anything, we're all going through the same thing and there are super nice people on this forum and this thread!
Ms Malawi is in charge of our spreadsheet, I'm sure she'll add you soon :)

Hi dayver1331,

Here is a link to the operational manuals that cic employees are supposed to follow when they work on the applications. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/index.asp
I posted it on this form sometime back but I can't take credit for it as I found it on this site and would give credit to the original poster.

Awesome! I'm glad to hear others are finally getting approval. Tomorrow is 100 days since I applied.... maybe there will be some good news on our case soon too! :)

Wow, 100 days, that is crazy. Our 70+ days is easy compared to that. Luckily, at least according to some of the other months' spreadsheets, a long spousal approval time does not necessarily indicate a longer overall process.
Has your spouse/sponsor called CIC? That's what my wife finally did, and they told her what was going on, and my Applicant number. Obviously it is not wise to pester them, but it was the first time we asked about our specific case.
Another thing: I don't know if anyone else had this issue, but I've never been able to check our information using our receipt number. So just because that doesn't work doesn't mean your information isn't on there.

Yes, we've called a few times now and been told the same thing - it's been received, processing doesn't appear to have started but we should hear something "soon". One agent said "within a month or so" which made me flip out a little! Subsequent agents have said "soon", so I'm reading into that word that things are starting to move. Our MP is supposedly helping out so we'll see what happens over the next week. Deep breaths and the odd glass of red wine are helping :D

Ours was received Nov 23, 2012 and it's in process as of Jan 17th 2013. Cannot wait until this is all done and dusted!

Really glad to hear you guys contacted the MP. They should be able to get through quickly and figure out what's going on with your application. Mine turned around within 24 hours of the call. Best of luck!

Thanks so much for the tip to get the MP involved! Our MP's office was somewhat reluctant at first but they have agreed to help, so we'll see what happens.
