Now im really hoping CIC speeds things up.... i neeeeeed to get out of connecticut.. lately it just seems like the worst place to be. first the hurricane and now this elementary school shooting JUST outside my city : ( i'm heartbroken and feel so unsafe here. just wish i could be safe with my husband in canada.

Positive thinking it is coming soon!!! It's a straightforward process just slow. If there's no reason to to be approved then everything will be ok!

Everything will be ok don't worry! It won't help to go to the consulate while you are in Brazil. Just stay strong and positive and focus on you guys
We are both outland doing our visa through Sao Paulo and i hear its quite a slow process in Brazil but hopefully all goes smoothly!!!

Going to Brazil in 2 weeks can't wait need to take my mind off this!!

Thanks for letting me know it doesn't matter if we go to the Consulate in São Paulo. My hubby thought it could help us, or that he could at least take me back with him now. I guess we need to be patient!

I don't think they do, also because having a job is not a requirement for a sponsor. You're required to have a plan to support your family, and know how you will organize yourself, but a job is not the only way.
They mostly rely on Option C ( for the ones in Canada) to see if you have been employed, and also to check if you're on welfare... Normally the sponsorship part is pretty simple: welfare check, yes or no, criminal background check (yes or no) and see if you are eligible to sponsor your family member (not the quality of your relationship, but if you qualify as a sponsor for your family member : let's say you applied common-law, if you have only been living together for 6 months ( and not the 12 required) they will let you know already).

just a wild guess buttttt..... maybe cic is taking some sort of pre-holiday break? lol. who knows, but we havent had any more approvals for this month and there's certainly no chance that all of us got denied lol. PATIENCE GUYS! i'm trying really hard but as time goes buy mine just starts to wear thin.
