Hi everyone, nice to meet you guys so glad i finally found this group!!!

We applied at the beginning of november, our application was received november 13th, and we just received the good news TODAY from our family that our sponsorship was approved december 7th! (my husband and I applied outland).
Now our application is being sent to Sao Paulo in Brazil.

I wish all of you the best of luck and hope everything goes smoothly!!!
all of this waiting will not be an easy thing to do!!!!!

congratulations erin! it seems as though the week of november 13th was a lucky week for all those who's applications were recieved that week... i am so so so anxious to hear something sometime soon... does anyone know any reasons why someone might be denied first stage approval for sponsorship? as far as i have heard the only reasons they would really deny someone to become a sponsor is because of financial instability or something to do with their criminal background... neither me or my husband have a criminal background and he has a steady income/job... trying not to think negatively about this but every time i see another person get approved i start to wonder more and more : (

although i did just log into the online services on cic.ga.ca and!!! it says my application was received on November 1st, so at least i know they have it lol.

bscinto - THANK YOU! yes they have it and I'm sure they are just taking their time going through everything carefully! If you have stable income, somewhere to live and no record all you have to do is wait you will get yours soon! its coming!!!! I believe it!

Don't worry - you will be approved. Very very few people get denied in first stage, so it's probably that your file is stuck somewhere in the bottom of the pile ( and it's hard when other people get approved... believe me, I know, I waited 92 days to get approved, and applied mid-april, and saw people from end May get approved before me)... most of the time people get denied in the first stage if they failed to declare the person ( landed as a PR while married but did not declare the marriage, and try to sponsor their spouse later), or something similar. If they have some doubts, they will give you an opportunity to explain more. But if you have a straightforward case ( no criminal record, a job and place to live), then you'll be approved, no worries.

Hello all November applicants,

RM15 and I have been sharing the responsibilities of updates for the spreadsheet, but I would like to pass it on to somebody else, as I don't really belong to this thread - and since I got my PR a few weeks ago, I'lll be less and less on the forum - more and more occupied trying to settle in Canada etc...

Could anybody take over from me? it's really not that difficult, only requires to follow the thread. I can provide all the technical support if needed, and if you have never worked with spreadsheet before - well it's a good occasion to learn.

Any volunteers?

What did you use to check your application status? I tried using the receipt number but it doesn't work ... the wait is nerve wrecking....guess will have to wait until Wednesday
